# Job Description : Senior Blockchain Specialist - StableHouse 2.0
## 1. Role Overview
As a Senior Blockchain Specialist at StableHouse, you will be the lead expert responsible for connecting our core financial infrastructure to a diverse set of public blockchain networks. You will take ownership of the integration, reliability, and security of all interactions with protocols like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and various stablecoin platforms (e.g., Circle).
This is a senior, hands-on role for a deep technical expert in blockchain protocols and infrastructure. Unlike a pure smart-contract developer, your focus will be on the critical bridge between our off-chain systems and the on-chain world. You will be responsible for everything from integrating with institutional custody APIs like Fireblocks to ensuring the faultless broadcasting and confirmation of transactions. Your expertise will be vital for the 24x7 Settlement Engine and the Lombard Lending platform, ensuring the integrity and security of our multi-asset operations.
## 2. Key Responsibilities
- Lead Blockchain Integration Architecture :
- Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure integrations with multiple L1 and L2 blockchains, including Bitcoin and EVM-based networks.
- Architect the systems responsible for monitoring on-chain events, managing transaction nonces, and calculating network fees.
- Master Custody and Wallet Infrastructure :
- Serve as the technical lead for integrating with our institutional custody provider (Fireblocks), orchestrating the creation of vaults, management of wallets, and automation of transaction signing policies.
- Design and oversee the operational security procedures for multi-signature (MPC) signing and key management.
- Build Protocol-Specific Services :
- Develop the backend services required to interact with specific on-chain logic, such as orchestrating multi-sig vault operations for the Lombard Lending engine's collateral management.
- Integrate with third-party stablecoin providers (e.g., Circle APIs for USDC) to automate minting, redemption, and payment flows.
- Ensure Data Integrity and Reliability :
- Build and maintain the data pipelines that reliably ingest transaction data, balances, and state changes from various blockchains into our off-chain ledgers.
- Implement robust error handling and reconciliation mechanisms to guard against chain reorgs and other network instabilities.
- Technical Mentorship :
- Provide expert guidance to other backend engineers on the nuances of blockchain interaction, transaction lifecycle management, and security best practices.
## 3. Required Qualifications
###
Must-Have :Professional Experience :10+ years of professional backend or infrastructure engineering experience, with a minimum of 5-7 years focused specifically on blockchain integration, protocol development, or node infrastructure.Deep Protocol Knowledge :Expert-level understanding of both the Bitcoin protocol (UTXO model, transaction lifecycle, scripting) and the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM).Institutional Custody Experience :Proven, hands-on experience integrating with institutional-grade custody solutions, wallet APIs, or MPC providers (e.g., Fireblocks, Copper, Anchorage).Backend Engineering Mastery :Strong programming skills in a backend language likeGoorPython, with experience building production-grade services.Node and Network Expertise :Experience with the practical aspects of interacting with blockchain nodes (e.g., via RPC), understanding their APIs, and managing connections.Security Mindset :A deep-seated understanding of operational security as it pertains to private keys, transaction signing, and interacting with public networks.###
Nice-to-Have (Highly Desirable) :Stablecoin Integration :Direct experience integrating with the APIs of major stablecoin issuers like Circle (USDC).Discreet Log Contracts (DLCs) :Experience or deep theoretical knowledge of DLCs and their implementation.Financial Services Experience :Previous work in a FinTech or crypto-native company, especially in a role related to exchange connectivity, custody, or settlement.Infrastructure Automation :Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (like Terraform) and running blockchain-related infrastructure in a cloud environment.
