The Role :
The Senior PCB design engineer will be responsible for layout design activity which involves floor planning, routing, gerber creation as per the design request received. He should be required to communicate to cross function team for the layout design activity / input / reviews. As a PCB design engineer for the Hardware Tools team, you will be required to interact and collaborate with the global teams and understand their requirement to deliver the quality work along with EMS for fabrication and assembly support.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for PCB design including component placement and completing layout design.
- Responsible for generating the artifacts for the fabrication and assembly.
- Design PCB in accordance with IPC standards.
- Help resolve EQs post artwork delivery during fabrication activity.
- Align with the Process and workflow defined by silicon labs for project execution
- Mentor team for technical things related to PCB design
- DFx Compliant PCB Design activities
- Proven experience in leading small-to-mid sized teams or mentoring junior engineers
- Stay updated on emerging PCB technologies, tools, and design methodologies.
- Drive process improvements and tool enhancements to increase design efficiency and product reliability.
Skills you'll need :
M.tech. or B.Tech. in Electronics Eng. (or equivalent education) preferably experience of more than 10+ years as a PCB design engineer on high speed and mixed signal PCB layout designAbility to read and interpret PRD and schematic designAbility to read mechanical files for the drawing study and implement floor planning for PCB design.Experience working with and maintaining component database management tools as well as schematic capture packages, preferably Altium , OrCAD and PADSExperience with IPC guidelines and various PCB technologiesExperience in RF layout design is a plus.Should have knowledge of Highspeed board designShould have knowledge of EMI / EMC consideration while designing the layoutHands-on Electrical Engineering or PCB design experience with electrical design, including component / part selection and DFMShould have knowledge of PCB Fabrication and assembly activities including reflow cyclesExperience with BOM (Bill of Material) development and management for developmental and production programsSome background in mechanical assembly / fabricationGood communication skills and ability to work effectively with manufacturing and engineering teams as well as a keen attention to detailHas Good knowledge on test-Jig development.Excellent analytical and system troubleshooting abilities.Efficient and informed decision-making.Methodical, thorough, and dedicated to quality.The following qualifications will be considered a plus :
