• The ERM Sustainability Institute (the Institute -see the Institute page on erm.com for more information) is seeking a motivated Research Consultant, who is interested in participating in a variety of research-related activity in line with the purpose of the Institute.

The Institute undertakes its research and runs corporate membership networks with the aim of facilitating connections to ERM experts in ways that lead to new business development opportunities and that inspire ERM, its clients, and its partners to greater business success built on sustainable practices.
• The successful candidate will work as an individual contributor, reporting to a member of the Institute team and will support stakeholders across the business. Interest in and basic understanding of the sustainability agenda and the ability to work nimbly across diverse project subject matter and project types are paramount to success in the role. The Institute team is small and geographically spread globally, meaning the ability to work independently and on a flexible schedule to accommodate meetings cutting across time zones is Help design, lead and participate in primary and secondary qualitative and quantitative research and participate in publication preparation and design as directed and as required to support the creation of Institute thought leadership materials and collateral.
• Schedule and conduct interviews to bring client, partner, and other stakeholder perspectives into Institute research and insights.
• Help author Institute research papers, surveys, briefs, blogs, and other outputs.
• Support network and convening activities including member and client communications, meeting planning and execution (including logistics and technology as necessary), network member recruitment, and program administration.
• Participate in development and delivery of Institute approaches to stakeholder engagement.
• Create PowerPoint presentations and other collateral required to communicate Institute perspectives and learning internally and externally.
• Perform multiple, often overlapping, projects within scope / budget / schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on deliverables.
• Support the Institute Team as well as non-Institute ERM Partners-in-Charge and Project Managers to effectively manage projects.
• Support Institute administration and Bachelors degree in environmental science, business, commerce, communications, political science, or other relevant discipline. MBA or masters degree in relevant discipline preferred.
• 4-5 years of relevant experience at a consulting firm or another commensurate organization, in a role that involves research and writing.
• Experience conducting primary and secondary research.
• Proven track record writing or supporting the production of reports, briefs, blogs or other publications.
• Experience supporting meeting design and facilitation.
• Effective written and verbal communication and organization / analytical skills.
• Highly competent user of Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Experience with data management and / or infographics creation a plus.
• Comfort using emerging AI tools relevant to Institute research.
• Experience with design, marketing and / or communications a plus.
• A balance of creativity and discipline as demonstrated in past work.
• Proven ability to function well as a member of a team, as well as the ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Confidence managing junior peers and managing up as required;
• Ability to respond to requests from members of the team working across multiple time-zones.
