Job Title : Cloud Engineer (Azure to GCP Migration)

The key requirement is that you must be able to work PST hours for an initial period of 2-3 months.
Role Overview :
This role is responsible for provisioning and managing GCP infrastructure, executing lift-and-shift migrations from Azure to GCP, and implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC). The focus is on deeper VM migration expertise to support the migration of approximately 300 servers and over 250 workloads. This position may involve off-hours work (nights or weekends) for actual movements. There is potential for 1 resource based in India to act as force multipliers, provided they can quickly become productive.
Key Responsibilities :
Provision GCP infrastructure, including Shared VPCs and Google Compute Engine (GCE) VMs.
Execute lift-and-shift migrations of VMs from Azure to GCE using tools such as Migrate for Compute.
Implement IaC using Terraform for automated provisioning and scalability.
Set up monitoring and disaster recovery (DR) configurations to achieve less than 1% unplanned downtime and a 1-hour Recovery Time Objective (RTO) for Tier 1 applications.
Collaborate with the Cloud Architect to ensure infrastructure aligns with security and scalability objectives.
Augment application details for migration planning and detailed movement tasks.
Start with full overlap in the PST time zone for coordination, transitioning to regular India hours as communication and trust grow; participate in turnover meetings for sanity checks and alignment.

Database schema changes.
Leaving resources unsupervised during change windows.
