Senior Production Executive

Position Summary
The Executive – Production is responsible for overseeing and managing production activities during assigned shifts to ensure the efficient manufacturing of food ingredients in compliance with quality and food safety standards. The role requires strong knowledge of
spray drying
and
wet processing operations
(including
Homogenizer, Centrifuge, and Filtration
systems), adherence to SOPs, and effective management of manpower and resources. The position also involves maintaining process documentation, identifying abnormalities, supporting preventive actions, and ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Operations
Plan, execute, and monitor production activities to achieve daily and shift-wise production targets.
Supervise and control the
Spray Drying process
and
Wet Processing section , including
Homogenizers, Centrifuges, and Filtration equipment , ensuring optimal performance and consistent product quality.
Ensure process parameters are maintained within defined limits and promptly address any deviations.
Identify and record
process abnormalities or equipment breakdowns , perform
primary identification and root cause analysis , and coordinate with maintenance for timely resolution.
Ensure the availability and efficient utilization of raw materials, packaging materials, and utilities during shifts.
Maintain and verify production-related documents, including
Batch Manufacturing Records (BMRs) , logbooks, and shift reports.
Ensure
Critical Control Points (CCPs)
and
Operational Prerequisite Programs (OPRPs)
are implemented and monitored as per
SOPs .
2. Compliance & Documentation
Ensure strict adherence to
Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) ,
Good Hygiene Practices (GHP) , and
Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS) .
Comply with
FSSC 22000, ISO 22000, HACCP , and
FSSAI
standards.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date production records and checklists.
Oversee and ensure implementation of
CIP (Cleaning-In-Place)
and
COP (Cleaning-Out-of-Place)
procedures, including the completion of relevant checklists.
Support internal and external audits by maintaining traceable and complete documentation.
Assist in implementing
Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA)
for non-conformities.
3. Manpower & Resource Management
Supervise, guide, and motivate production staff to ensure productivity, quality, and safety during shifts.
Plan and allocate manpower across spray drying, wet processing, blending, and packing areas.
Conduct on-the-job training for operators and helpers on SOPs, equipment handling, hygiene, and safety practices.
Monitor shift discipline and ensure a safe, clean, and efficient work environment.
4. Production Management
Coordinate with
Maintenance, Electrical, Utility, Warehouse, and Quality
teams to minimize downtime and optimize plant performance.
Ensure coordination and communication across departments for smooth shift handovers.
Monitor production efficiency, yield, and rejection levels, and take necessary actions for improvement.
Provide inputs for process optimization and resource utilization to meet production KPIs.
5. Health, Safety & Environment
Enforce adherence to
plant safety procedures ,
PPE usage , and safe work practices.
Identify and mitigate potential hazards in production and processing areas.
Promote a
culture of safety awareness , accountability, and continuous improvement in environmental and occupational health practices.
Support compliance with environmental and waste management guidelines.
6. Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities for
process optimization, yield improvement , and
cost reduction .
Participate in validation, calibration, and preventive maintenance programs.
Collaborate with
R&D, Quality, and Maintenance
teams for new product trials and process improvements.
Qualifications & Experience
Education :
B.Tech / B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Food Technology or related discipline
Experience :
3–5 years of experience in
production operations
within the
food or FMCG industry , preferably in
spray drying and wet processing
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of
Spray Drying ,
Homogenization ,
Centrifugation , and
Filtration
processes
Familiarity with
CIP / COP systems , cleaning validations, and documentation
Understanding of
Food Safety Systems
(FSSC 22000 / ISO 22000 / HACCP)
Hands-on experience in
BMRs, deviation reports , and process documentation
Good troubleshooting and
root cause analysis
skills for process and equipment issues
Strong leadership, communication, and team management abilities
Proficiency in
MS Office
and
ERP systems
Commitment to safety, hygiene, and continuous improvement
Ability to perform under pressure and work in rotating shifts
