The key accountabilities of the role :
- Quality Strategy : Work with Head of Quality to develop, implement, and champion the company-wide quality assurance strategy and standards.
- Team Leadership : Lead, mentor, and manage the QA team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
- Automation : Drive the development and maintenance of a comprehensive test automation framework to improve efficiency and test coverage.
- Innovation : Research, evaluate, and integrate advanced technologies, including Generative AI and agentic systems, into the QA workflow.
The key responsibilities of the role :
Lead and manage the entire testing lifecycle, from planning and strategy to execution and reporting.Design, develop, and maintain a robust and scalable test automation framework using modern tools and practices.Oversee the creation and execution of automated tests for functional, regression, performance, and security testing.Mentor and guide junior and mid-level QA engineers, providing technical guidance and career development support.Collaborate with engineering, product, and dev-ops teams to integrate quality early and often into the development process.Establish clear metrics and reporting to track quality, test coverage, and team performance.Proactively identify and communicate risks and blockers to project teams and management.The key requirements for the role :
Leadership and Mentorship : Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team of QA engineers.Test Automation : Expert-level skills in designing and implementing test automation frameworks.Strategic Thinking : Ability to develop long-term strategies for quality assurance that align with business goals.Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively report on quality status and risks to stakeholders.Problem-Solving : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement.In-depth knowledge of quality assurance methodologies, tools, and best practices.Strong understanding of test automation frameworks (e.g., Katalon, Selenium, Cypress, Playwright).Solid programming skills in at least one language (e.g., Python, JavaScript).Must-Have : A strong understanding of Generative AI, machine learning, and agentic systems and their potential applications in QA.Familiarity with CI / CD pipelines and integrating automated tests.5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance.2+ years in a leadership or senior role, managing or mentoring a team.Demonstrated experience designing and implementing a test automation framework from the ground up.Proven experience with Agile / Scrum methodologies.Prior experience in researching and introducing new technologies or methodologies to a team, especially related to AI.Why you should become a ReadyTecher :
