Main Purpose of the Role
The Associate Director General Medicine is responsible for driving and controlling the sales performance, strategic direction, and overall growth of one or more products or brands within the General Medicine portfolio. The role involves analyzing market trends, identifying opportunities, and implementing marketing and sales strategies to achieve business objectives and strengthen the companys position in the market.
Key Responsibilities :
Sales Strategy & Forecasting :
- Analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor activities to prepare accurate forecasts and performance reports.
- Develop actionable insights and recommendations for business growth.
Brand & Product Management :
Oversee the lifecycle management of assigned products / brands, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize brand visibility, market share, and profitability.Promotions & Advertising :
Coordinate and monitor promotional campaigns, marketing communication, and advertising activities.Ensure all initiatives are executed in line with brand strategy and regulatory guidelines.Strategic Planning :
Develop both short-term and long-term strategic plans to drive business growth and sustainability.Identify new business opportunities within the General Medicine segment.Team Leadership :
Lead, mentor, and guide the sales and marketing teams to deliver targets and maintain high performance standards.Foster collaboration across departments to ensure seamless execution of business plans.Qualifications & Experience :
Bachelors degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or related field (MBA in Marketing preferred).10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical sales / marketing, with significant exposure to the General Medicine portfolio.Proven track record in driving brand performance and achieving sales targets.Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and leadership skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.(ref : iimjobs.com)
