Underground Drill & Blast Engineer
Location : WA – Residential (Kalgoorlie / Goldfields region)
Roster : 8 : 6 (12-hour shifts)
Type : Permanent, Residential
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Underground Drill & Blast Engineer to join the technical services team of a major underground mining operation in the Goldfields. This residential role offers an excellent roster and the opportunity to work across multiple mining methods, providing continuous technical development for an ambitious mining engineer.
Key Responsibilities
Generate, schedule, and implement short-term drilling, blasting, and ancillary mine plans.
Coordinate production activities with the scheduling team to ensure alignment with weekly and monthly production targets.
Conduct regular inspections of underground production areas and liaise with geology and survey teams when preparing plans.
Provide technical support to supervisors and underground crews.
Manage daily and weekly data for reporting, including blast vibration monitoring and notifications.
Contribute technical input into longer-term production planning.
Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering.
Proven experience in an underground engineering role (drill & blast preferred).
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Experience with mine design software – Deswik highly regarded .
Exposure to ventilation and production engineering tasks.
WA Underground Supervisors Certificate of Competency (or ability to obtain).
Dangerous Goods Security Card (or ability to obtain).
Must reside in, or be willing to relocate to, the Goldfields region.
Current WA “C” Class driver’s licence.
