DWS’s data infrastructure team provides the secure, scalable and trustworthy foundation for storing, processing and distributing critical enterprise data. As Engineering Lead for data infrastructure, you drive the design, built, and continuous improvement of our cloud-based and on-prem data platforms and the pipes between them. You’ll align closely with the CTO Data and lead a high-impact squad, setting technical direction, mentoring team members and contributing directly to architecture and code.

Your key responsibilities
Lead, grow, and mentor a high impact data platform engineering teamHands-on contribution into software development effortsOwn end-to-end architecture and design of a variety of data platform components – all the way from data ingestion to distributionModel, test, collaborate (to understand requirements, create stories, and design solutions), implement and help test requirementsContribute to the development of testing and quality control processes and policies for the organizationCollaborate with architects, security engineers, control functions, the Chief Data Office and other stakeholder to improve compliance, security posture and reliabilityWork with product owners to translate product vision and demand into platform capabilitiesYour skills and experience
12+ years of experience in platform-, data engineering or an adjacent field, preferably with strong focus on enterprise data platforms. Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is a plusVery strong expertise in the modern data stack, including cloud-based data platforms such as GCP BigQuery, Snowflake, and the ecosystem around themExtensive experience in operating production cloud infrastructure, especially Google Cloud, in complex enterprise environmentsProficiency with IaC (e.g. Terraform), automation tooling, orchestration tooling (e.g. dbt, Airflow)Good understanding of data governance, security, and IT compliance in highly regulated environmentsVery good programming skills in Python and / or JavaExperience with development utilizing software development life cycle (SDLC) tools including Git, JIRA, Artifactory, Jenkins / TeamCity, OpenShiftExperience in growing and leading highly performing engineering teamsStrong problem-solving skills, strategic thinking and attention to detailFluent in English (written and spoken)How we’ll support you
