Position Summary
The Senior Architect will act as a bridge between the Principal Architect (Design Lead) and the project execution team. This role requires translating design concepts into detailed presentation drawings, working drawings, and comprehensive “Good for Construction (GFC)” drawings. The Senior Architect will lead the drawing production process, ensure design intent is maintained, and coordinate with junior architects and the Project Manager for smooth project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Design Development
- Understand and interpret the Principal Architect’s design concepts and intent.
- Develop design presentations and schematic drawings for client approvals.
- Refine design details, material specifications, and aesthetics as per project requirements.
Drawing Production
Prepare working drawings, construction details, and GFC sets with accuracy and clarity.Ensure drawings adhere to codes, standards, and project requirements.Delegate drafting tasks to junior architects / fresher and review their work.Coordination
Work closely with the Project Manager to integrate site requirements and execution feasibility into drawings.Coordinate with consultants (structural, MEP, landscape, etc.) to ensure all services are well integrated.Communicate effectively with vendors and contractors for technical clarity.Quality Control
Ensure all drawings maintain design integrity, technical correctness, and presentation quality.Review and red-mark junior staff drawings before final submission.Conduct periodic quality checks on drawings issued for construction.Team Mentorship
Guide and mentor junior architects and fresher in design detailing, drafting standards, and software skills.Encourage knowledge sharing within the team.Project Support
Provide drawing clarifications during construction phase as required.Participate in client / consultant meetings when necessary to explain design intent.Support documentation and revisions based on site feedback
