Role Overview
The Validation Lead will be the owner of Kazam’s validation strategy across AC & DC chargers, responsible not only for ensuring technical test coverage but also for shaping the validation culture and team direction. This role requires a hands-on leader who can balance lab execution with cross-functional leadership, while being the forefront face of validation quality to both internal teams and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
1. Validation Strategy & Execution
- Define validation methodology, coverage matrix, and acceptance criteria for AC (3.3–22 kW) and DC (3-12 kW+) chargers.
- Own DVP, FAT, interoperability, and certification readiness test plans.
- Ensure end-to-end system validation including power, safety, communication, and environmental performance.
2. Leadership & Team Development
Build and lead a multi-disciplinary validation team (system, hardware, firmware).Provide technical mentorship, set performance expectations, and foster a culture of accountability and precision.Act as the forefront leader driving test rigor, team motivation, and proactive problem solving.3. Lab & Infrastructure Ownership
Define and procure test instruments (AC / DC sources, loads, analyzers, communication simulators, safety testers).Establish validation lab safety protocols and ensure world-class setup and upkeep.Drive automation and digitalization of test processes.4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Serve as the single point of validation leadership for Hardware, Firmware, Manufacturing, and Compliance teams.Align validation schedules with product milestones, highlighting risks early with mitigation plans.Work closely with compliance bodies (BIS, CE, ICAT, ARAI, UL) to accelerate certifications.5. Visibility, Reporting & Governance
Maintain structured documentation : test strategies, reports, defect traceability.Present validation status, insights, and gaps to management and customers whenrequired.
Be the voice of the testing team within Kazam, ensuring validation remains central toproduct quality and release decisions.
Key Requirements
Education :
B.Tech / M.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Power Electronics, or related field.Experience :
7–10 years in validation / testing of power electronics, automotive, or EVSE domain.Proven leadership in building or leading validation / test teams.Hands-on experience with AC / DC EV chargers, high-voltage systems, and lab safety.Strong knowledge of communication protocols (CAN, OCPP, ISO 15118, CCS, CHAdeMO).Proficient in developing vehicle level DVP for function test, performance test & environmental tests.
