Job Title – Lead - Accounts Payable

Job Purpose

The role bearer has the responsibility to manage the accounts payable department and staff in the bank. It includes ensuring the efficient accounting operations for the bank and handling all accounting activities in order to achieve compliance with the accounting and taxation legislation and standards.

Responsibilities

Roles & Responsibilities :

• Manage accounting functions including maintenance of general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and project accounting
• Supervise monthly closing of financial records and posting of month end information; ensures accuracy of financial statements
• Manage vendor relations, vendor invoice processing for a high volume of invoices and disbursements, tax related matters, and internal control monitoring
• Keep track of the bank's financial expenditures, maintain a database and present reports to senior management
• Present operating and personnel budgets for approval. Monitor spending for adherence to budget, recommend variances as necessary
• Ensures that systems, policies, and procedures adhere to bank policies while functioning with accuracy and timeliness
• Ensure execution of external and internal audits, providing all the required information to the auditors, in order to facilitate accurate and fast execution
• Administer all projects, ensure work according to technical specifications and manage work as departmental requirement
• Investigate and resolve problems associated with processing of invoices and purchase orders
• Ensure compliance to the regulatory guidelines
• Conduct trainings for teams as required to deliver high quality performance
• Capture and share best practice knowledge amongst the team
• Leverage in-house synergies through collaboration with internal stakeholders
• Keep abreast with global market trends and competitor strategies in key markets
• Create an environment that promotes collaborative learning and collective ownership of responsibilities
• Attract and retain best in class talent for key roles in their reporting structure
• Ensure adherence to benchmarks / processes set up for finalizing commercials and other key parameters
