Senior Interior Designer (Commercial)

Job Summary

DE is seeking a highly creative, motivated, and experienced Senior Interior Designer to join our dynamic team in Bangalore. The ideal candidate will be a design leader, responsible for guiding projects from concept to completion. You will be the primary point of contact for high-profile clients, translating their vision and business objectives into groundbreaking interior environments. Your expertise in space planning, material selection, and team leadership will be crucial to our continued success.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the conceptualization and development of design schemes for a variety of commercial projects (Corporate Offices, Co-working spaces, Retail, etc.).

Produce high-quality conceptual presentations, including mood boards, material palettes, and preliminary space plans.

Demonstrate strong storytelling ability to present design concepts confidently to clients and stakeholders.

Stay abreast of global design trends, materials, and FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment) relevant to the commercial sector.

Technical Execution & Project Management :

Develop detailed technical drawings (floor plans, elevations, sections, joinery details) using AutoCAD / SketchUp.

Create compelling 3D visualizations and renderings using software such as SketchUp, 3ds Max, or Enscape / Lumion (preferred) .

Prepare comprehensive project documentation, including BOQs (Bills of Quantities), material schedules, and specifications.

Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.

Conduct site visits to monitor progress, ensure quality control, and resolve on-site challenges.

Client & Team Management :

Act as the main client liaison, managing expectations, communicating progress, and building strong, lasting relationships.

Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of junior and mid-level designers, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment.

Coordinate effectively with vendors, contractors, and consultants (MEP, PMC, etc.) to ensure design integrity is maintained.

Qualifications & Skills Essential :

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture from a recognized institution.

5-7 years of proven experience in commercial interior design, with a strong portfolio showcasing completed projects.

Expert proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign).

In-depth knowledge of space planning, building codes, construction methods, and materials.

Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Strong leadership qualities with experience in managing teams and client relationships.

Desirable :

Proficiency in 3D rendering software like 3ds Max, V-Ray, or Lumion.

Knowledge of sustainable (Green) design principles for commercial projects.
