Key Responsibilities :
Middleware Administration & Maintenance :
- Perform installation, configuration, patching, and upgrading of WebLogic, WebSphere, and Middleware components across environments (Dev, QA, Production).
- Manage application deployment and undeployment, including troubleshooting and rollback in case of issues.
- Develop and maintain server and database configurations, ensuring stability and scalability.
- Implement and maintain Extended Support for WebSphere and Middleware services.
- Maintain connectivity for WebSphere and Middleware components, ensuring seamless application communication.
Performance Tuning & Optimization :
Perform JVM tuning, including heap size configuration, thread dump analysis, and heap dumpanalysis.
Optimize performance of application and web servers to ensure high availability andresponsiveness.
Conduct capacity planning and environment sizing based on system growth and performancetrends.
Build proactive monitoring and alert mechanisms to prevent downtime and performance degradation.Web Server Administration & Integration :
Administer and configure Web Servers such as Apache, Oracle HTTP Server (OHS), IBM HTTP Server (IHS), and Nginx.Integrate web servers with application servers for seamless load balancing and session management.Implement and maintain TLS / SSL configurations, ensuring secure data exchange across environments.Monitoring, Backup, and Disaster Recovery :
Configure and maintain monitoring tools and scripts for application and web server health checks, profiling, memory usage, and concurrency.Ensure backup policies and DR procedures are followed as per organizational standards.Participate in DR drills, failover, and switchover exercises, ensuring business continuity.Implement disaster recovery policies and verify backup recoverability for middleware components.Security & Compliance :
Apply system hardening, patching, and vulnerability remediation in accordance with security guidelines.Ensure compliance with internal IT security policies and industry standards.Conduct regular reviews to maintain middleware environment security posture.Change, Incident & Problem Management :
Review, assess, and implement change requests in pre-production and production environments.Manage incident resolution, outage handling, root cause analysis (RCA), and post-incidentreviews.
Provide on-call support during critical outages and ensure timely Participate in client reviews, technical discussions, and service improvement meetings.Leadership & Collaboration :
Lead a team of middleware administrators and provide L3-level guidance and escalation support.Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to SLAs and operational procedures.Work cross-functionally with infrastructure, database, network, and application teams to resolve complex issues.Provide technical mentoring, documentation, and knowledge transfer to junior team members.Strong expertise in :
WebLogic and WebSphere administration (installation, patching, upgrade, migration).Performance tuning, including heap / thread dump analysis and JVM configuration.Web Servers : Apache, OHS, IHS, Nginx (configuration, integration, and tuning).TLS / SSL implementation, certificate management, and security hardening.Monitoring and alert configuration for performance and availability.Disaster Recovery, backup, and failover processes.Experience with capacity planning, environment sizing, and infrastructure optimization.Solid understanding of change management, incident management, and problem management processes.Familiarity with scripting (Shell, Python, WLST) for automation and operational efficiency.Hands-on experience with monitoring tools like Nagios, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, or similarsolutions.
