Responsibilities : 1. Product Development, R&D & Innovation
Passionate about food innovation, new food concepts, and “better for you” foods for India and globally.
Have deep technical knowledge of food formulations, technologies, processes, PM & RM for developing packaged food products.
Be aware of new food trends, future foods - how to formulate / standardize them & manufacture them in manufacturing facilities.
End-to-end knowledge in prototyping, development, implementation, and improvement of food production processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Support sensory evaluations, providing valuable insights for product refinement, shelf life extension, etc.
Assist in the creation & maintenance of detailed records, including lab reports, product specifications, & technical documents.
Flawlessly understand and execute FSSAI guidelines / packaging regulations for different food products in India and globally.
Possess knowledge of third-party manufacturers, raw material suppliers, packaging material suppliers, flavor houses, and ingredient manufacturers' networks in India and their manufacturing capabilities.
Smooth tech transfer to the 3PM for manufacturing.
Strong negotiation skills with all external vendors & manufacturers -Liaison between clients / manufacturers / vendors, ensuring to build strong relationships.
2. Market Research
Support with market research across various food & beverages categories.
Conduct research & analysis to support product development, formulation, & quality control.
Up-to-date information about new trends, manufacturing, technology, ingredients, packaging, and suppliers.
3. Project Management (Client facing)
Thoroughly understand clients' requirements & chalk out scope of work.
Liaise with the client to introduce the project timelines & present required documents to track progress.
Develop project plans, set objectives, allocate resources, and monitor progress.
Utilize MS Office to prepare reports, analyze data, and create presentations.
Deliver all clients' projects in a timely manner and ensure 100% client success ratio.
Handle client escalations whenever required and deliver right solutions to manage expectations.
4. Team Collaboration
Work with internal teams to deliver clients' projects.
Work with cross-functional teams to optimize project efficiency.
Mentoring junior team members and fostering their professional development and growth.
Drive a culture of innovation, knowledge sharing & continuous improvement in the company.
You will be the 1st POC for moving all clients' projects at all times. You will be expected to have immense involvement with the founding team of the company and its client side.
Skills required :
Completed a degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field (Masters preferable).
Relevant experience of a minimum of 8 years in the packaged food ecosystem.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Strong foundational knowledge of food technology principles, processes, and regulations.
Leadership potential and the ability to take initiatives.
Passion for the food industry and a desire to contribute to its growth and innovation.
The position is based out of our Mumbai office (Goregaon West), and we prefer candidates from Mumbai or those willing to relocate to Mumbai.
