This position is responsible for managing the procurement and planning of materials, components, and products to support production schedules, inventory targets, and customer demand. This role balances supply and demand by collaborating closely with suppliers, production, logistics, and internal stakeholders to ensure materials are available on time, at optimal cost, and in alignment with company objectives.
Key Responsibilities :
Material Planning & Procurement :
- Develop, maintain, and execute material requirements planning (MRP) to meet production schedules.
- Issue purchase orders (POs) and maintain accurate records in ERP systems.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials and components to support production and customer orders.
- Monitor supplier performance, lead times, and delivery schedules.
Supplier Management :
Collaborate with suppliers to resolve shortages, delays, and quality issues.Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and order quantities to achieve cost and service goals.Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships.Inventory Management :
Manage inventory levels to balance availability and working capital goals.Identify excess or obsolete inventory and drive reduction initiatives.Review and adjust safety stock and reorder points as neededProduction & Demand Coordination :
Coordinate with production and quality teams to align material availability with build plans.Analyse forecast data to anticipate material needs and adjust plans proactively.Participate in new product introduction planning for material readiness.Data & Reporting :
Maintain accurate data in ERP / MRP systems (e.g., item master, lead times, order policies).Generate regular reports on material status, supplier performance, and key KPIs.Support continuous improvement initiatives in procurement and planning processesWhat We're Looking For :

Qualifications & Experience :
Bachelor's or Master's in mechanical / metallurgical engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations, or related field (or equivalent experience).8–12 years of experience in buying, planning, or materials management in a manufacturing or distribution environment or in a foundry environment, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.Proficiency with ERP / MRP systemsStrong Excel and data analysis skillsKnowledge of supply chain, inventory control, and procurement principles.Key Competencies :
