Role Summary
The Head – Procurement, Contracts & Commercial Manager (Projects) will oversee end-to-end procurement, contracting, and commercial management for project execution . The role ensures timely availability of materials, services, and contractors, while managing budgets, minimizing risks, and ensuring project profitability and compliance .
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Procurement & Sourcing
- Develop and implement project-specific procurement strategies aligned with project timelines and budgets
- Procure raw materials, equipment, services, and outsourced contractors for construction, installation, or capital projects
- Evaluate vendors based on capability, quality, cost, and delivery performance
- Maintain supplier database for strategic sourcing of project materials
2. Contract Management
Draft, negotiate, and execute project contracts, work orders, MOUs, SLAs, and vendor agreementsEnsure risk mitigation clauses, liability coverage, and compliance are included in contractsMonitor contractual obligations, performance, milestones, and deliverablesHandle claims, disputes, and contract amendments with contractors3. Commercial Management
Approve vendor quotations and project-related procurement proposals in line with budgetMonitor project cost control, savings, and commercial viabilityTrack change orders, variations, and project financial implicationsEnsure all project commercial transactions comply with company policies4. Vendor & Contractor Management
Evaluate and onboard contractors and suppliers for project executionMonitor vendor performance against KPIs, timelines, and quality standardsConduct periodic audits of vendor / project accountsBuild strategic partnerships with contractors for long-term projects5. Project Team Leadership
Lead and mentor the project procurement and contracts teamEnsure proper implementation of SOPs, approval workflows, and procurement policies for projectsPrepare MIS reports for project status, cost tracking, and risk reportingDrive ERP / project management tool adoption6. Risk & Compliance
Ensure project procurement and contracts comply with legal, statutory, and audit requirementsProactively identify and mitigate risks related to suppliers, contracts, or project delaysMaintain all project contract documents and approvals for audit readinessQualification & Experience
Graduate / Postgraduate in EngineeringMBA / PG Diploma in Supply Chain / Procurement / Project Management preferred15+ years of experience in project procurement, contracts, and commercial managementExperience in large-scale capital projects / hospital projects preferred
