Job Summary :
We are looking for a Design Engineer to prepare and review piping and machinery related drawings, 3D models, and technical documentation for shipbuilding and offshore projects. The role involves supporting basic and detailed design stages, ensuring compliance with class and regulatory requirements, and coordinating with engineering teams for integration across disciplines.
- Prepare and update 2D drawings and 3D models for piping, outfitting, and machinery systems.
- Convert concept sketches and engineering inputs into accurate engineering drawings (GA, piping / isometric drawings, equipment foundations, etc.).
- Ensure drawings are as per class rules, standards, and project requirements.
- Support the preparation of material take-offs (MTOs), bill of materials (BOMs), and assembly drawings.
- Coordinate with design engineers, naval architects, and production teams to resolve drawing-related queries.
- Review and check drawings for accuracy, clarity, and compliance with standards.
- Maintain drawing records, revisions, and document control in line with project requirements.
- Provide technical support during construction and installation stages.
SKILLS
Diploma / Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Marine Engineering / Naval Architecture.3–6 years of drafting / design experience in shipbuilding, offshore.Proficiency in design and drafting software (AutoCAD, Cadmatic, Rhino, AVEVA or similar tools).Strong understanding of requirements for ship / offshore piping, and outfitting drawings.Knowledge of classification society rules and marine industry standards.Attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to work in a team.Education
