We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented
Functional Safety Engineer
to lead the
Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA)
and
Functional Safety Concept Development
for advanced control systems. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with safety standards such as
ISO 26262 ,
IEC 61508 , or
ARP4761 , and in shaping the safety architecture of next-generation systems.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including system architects, software developers, hardware engineers, and validation specialists to define safety goals, derive functional safety requirements, and develop robust safety concepts across the product lifecycle.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
5+ years of experience in functional safety engineering, preferably in automotive or industrial domains.
Strong understanding of ISO 26262, IEC 61508, or equivalent safety standards
Experience with HARA, FMEA, FTA, and safety lifecycle methods and processes.
Proficiency in requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, Polarion) and Safety Analysis tools (e.g Isograph, Medini).
Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Certified Functional Safety Engineer (e.g., TÜV SÜD, SGS-TÜV)
Experience with safety-critical embedded systems and control software (up to ASIL D).
Familiarity with cybersecurity standards (e.g., ISO / SAE 21434)
Exposure to ADAS, autonomous systems, or electrified powertrains
Knowledge of safety case development and tool qualification
