Job Title : Functional Safety Engineer
Job Summary :
We are looking for a highly motivated
Functional Safety Engineer
to join our team and drive safety compliance for cutting-edge hardware and software products. In this role, you will be responsible for developing functional safety work products in alignment with
ISO 26262
standards, supporting safety architecture design, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure safety requirements are met throughout the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities :
Serve as the
Functional Safety Engineer
for safety-related hardware and software products.
Create and support functional safety work products per
ISO 26262 , including Safety Plans, Safety Manuals, Safety Requirements, and Safety Analyses (qualitative and quantitative FMEDA).
Support and review
safety verification and validation activities
on IPs as
SEooC (Safety Element out of Context) .
Collaborate with architecture teams to propose safety features and define safety architectures.
Conduct design and documentation reviews with product teams to ensure compliance with functional safety standards.
Work closely with project engineers, marketing, development teams, consultants, vendors, and customers on functional safety activities.
Prepare clear, concise, and compliant safety documentation in line with industry standards.
Requirements : Bachelor’s degree in
Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
(Master’s preferred).
5+ years of relevant industry experience .
Experience or familiarity with :
Microprocessors, DSPs, hardware accelerators, SoC / ASIC architecture / design and verification (RTL, synthesis).
Product development life cycle for
embedded HW / SW systems
(processors, firmware, software).
Strong
analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills .
Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex safety concepts clearly.
Motivation to learn and apply compliance requirements in emerging markets.
Good to Have :
Direct experience with
ISO 26262
and safety certification.
Hands-on knowledge of
FMEDA, DFA, FMEA, FTA , and fault injection techniques.
Proven track record of taking customer safety requirements from concept to final product.
Scripting, programming, and
process automation
experience.
Familiarity with
configuration, requirements, and documentation management tools
(e.g., Perforce, Jama, JIRA).
Knowledge of
ISO 21434 (Automotive Cybersecurity)
and
ISO 9001 (Quality Management)
standards.
