Job Responsibilities :
Author, retrieve, validate and update (outdated or new) multilingual Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) for multiple jurisdictions and languages utilizing SDS authoring software.
Manage SDS master data with records on different tool systems and platforms .
Knowledge of acceptance criteria for a SDS and which actions to take when a criterion has not been met.
Determine hazard classifications in accordance with the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) and other authoring regulations. OSHA knowledge and US specific authoring of SDS, WIC, labels and regulations is a plus.
Assist customers on inquiries for Product Safety and Product Compliance including TSCA, EU Reach, Prop 65, RoHS, Medical regulations (EU), Food Contact (FDA) regulations, and other related regulations.
Manage client requests with information needed for SDSs, as well as supplier contact s when an SDS is not sufficient and lacks information.
Works on Health & Safety problems of diverse scope where the system helps author the SDS, but the candidate can further analyze the output of the system and have an eye to criticize whether the output is satisfactory, via evaluation of details and several factors.
Deliver accurate and timely SDSs and product labels to meet Shipping, R&D, regulatory, and other business needs such as supply chain and quality. Thrives working in a multi-disciplinary environment, going beyond chemical expertise , but working with different functional areas (sustainability / business / R&D) areas and other employees in Philips globally.
Deliver learning presentations to the wider Philips community, helping them learn different tools, ways of working in chemical management, and help keep their online repository of chemicals up to date.
Philips sites raise requests for the issuance of unique identifier codes for processing chemicals in Windchill and the generation of Philips SDS. Knowledge in processing part number requests in Windchill, review the supplier SDS against GHS criteria, upload the latest supplier SDS in Windchill & Wercs.
An innovative mindset, with a curiosity in learning innovative technologies as we work with two different SDS authoring and interface system s.
Preferred Skills :
A bachelor's degree (or higher) in Chemistry, Chemical / Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
At least 7 years of experience (or 5 years with a master's degree) in health and safety or chemical compliance.
Working knowledge in one or more transportation regulations ( ADR , DOT, IATA, IMDG, TDG).
Profound knowledge of re levant chemical legislations such as EU CLP, US HazCom 2012, Canadian WHMIS. Additional knowledge of other GHS jurisdictions is considered a bonus .
Client focus and quality & result-driven mindset , with a helpful, service-orientated personality.
E xperience using SDS and label authoring tools, and Microsoft Office .
A proactive, service-minded attitude with strong attention to detail.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks, self-plan and problem solve, with a conscientious mind to maintain regulatory compliance.
How we work together
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.
Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company's facilities.
Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company's main facilities, generally at the customers' or suppliers' locations.
