Role Overview
The Director of MICE will be responsible for driving strategic sales and marketing initiatives within the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions segment. This leadership role will focus on revenue growth, client acquisition, and brand positioning, ensuring JW Marriott Pune remains the preferred destination for premium events.
You will lead a high-performing team, nurture key client relationships, and collaborate with cross-functional departments to deliver luxury, large-scale events while maintaining profitability and brand standards.
Key Leadership
- Develop and execute the MICE sales strategy aligned with hotel and regional goals.
- Drive annual revenue targets, focusing on both domestic and international MICE markets.
- Identify emerging trends, competitor activities, and market opportunities to inform business development.
Business Development & Client Relations
Build and manage strategic partnerships with corporates, event organizers, travel agents, and global accounts.Lead negotiations and contracts for high-value MICE opportunities.Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients and stakeholders, ensuring a seamless and premium event experience.Team Leadership & Collaboration
Lead, mentor, and motivate the MICE sales team to achieve performance excellence.Collaborate with operations, culinary, and guest services teams to ensure flawless delivery of large-scale events.Champion Marriotts values of innovation, inclusivity, and exceptional guest service.Performance & Reporting
Track, analyze, and report sales performance metrics to senior leadership.Optimize profitability through effective pricing strategies, cost control, and ROI-driven marketing campaigns.Ensure compliance with Marriott Internationals standards, policies, and ethical practices.Skills & Competencies
Proven leadership in MICE sales and event management within luxury hospitality.Strong strategic planning, negotiation, and business development skills.Exceptional communication and presentation abilities, with the capacity to engage C-level clients.Deep understanding of domestic and international MICE markets, especially in India and APAC.Ability to lead diverse teams and foster a culture of accountability and excellence.Analytical mindset with expertise in forecasting, budgeting, and data-driven decision-making.Proficiency in CRM systems, sales management tools, and digital marketing platforms.Education & Experience
Bachelors degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (required).Masters degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred.12 - 18 years of progressive experience in Sales, Marketing, or Hospitality, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within MICE or luxury hotel environments.Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and leading cross-functional teams.Why Join JW Marriott Pune?
