We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented
Legal Manager
to oversee and coordinate all legal aspects of our debt recovery operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing ongoing litigations, ensuring timely hearing updates, drafting and reviewing legal documents, and supporting negotiation efforts to achieve maximum receivable clearance.
Key Responsibilities
Case Tracking :
Maintain an updated calendar and tracker of all ongoing legal cases, hearings, and filings.
Coordination with Lawyers :
Regularly follow up with panel advocates and external legal counsel for case updates, hearing outcomes, and filing statuses.
Drafting & Documentation :
Prepare and review legal documents including notices, agreements, contracts, settlement deeds, and recovery-related correspondence.
Recovery Support :
Assist in preparing demand notices, settlement communications, and other legal documentation for debt recovery.
Negotiation :
Engage with debtors, promoters, and counterparties to negotiate amicable settlements and ensure effective clearance of receivables.
Team Management :
Oversee and guide the internal collection and legal coordination teams, ensuring timely reporting and action on assigned accounts.
Compliance :
Ensure all legal and procedural steps are taken in accordance with IBC, Contract Act, NI Act, and other applicable laws.
Reporting :
Provide periodic updates and MIS reports on the status of cases, recoveries, and pending legal actions to senior management.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Law (LLB / LLM).
3–7 years of experience in legal management, recovery, or litigation support (experience in IBC, recovery, or debt management preferred).
Strong understanding of civil and commercial laws, IBC, and recovery proceedings.
Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple cases, coordinate with legal professionals, and lead internal teams.
Proficiency in MS Office and case management tools.
