JOB DESCRIPTION :

Responsible for : Leading the Sourcing Hub India

Job Purpose :

  • The Regional Sourcing Head India develops and delivers the sourcing strategy for the Indian supply base, to support both the local and the global Client operations.
  • The incumbent is responsible for the traditional areas of supplier management, cost reduction, process efficiency, quality, compliance, as well as building a robust sourcing Indian ecosystem for the company which considers the advancement and acceleration of new technologies and the sustainability requirements of our customers.
  • He / she will also have indirect influence on the achievement of inventory targets at site level, by working collaboratively with the site leader.
  • This role is responsible to support Client's strategic plan over the medium to longer term (5 years), while also establishing a local (Pune) multiyear pipeline of savings projects which are monitored frequently and which deliver real P&L net savings.
  • The incumbent manages a small team of buyers and supply quality engineers ensuring the selected suppliers deliver on agreed KPIs, develop robust supplier relationships and manage risks across the company's supply chain.
  • In the near future some additional tasks (and resources) will be added to the scope, including leading the support for all sustainability reporting and responses to customers and also reporting functions of savings, inflation analysis and overall material costs.
  • The incumbent must ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements and abide by company policies and Client's Code of Conduct (and Code of Conduct for Suppliers) at all times.

Key Tasks

  • Develops and implements strategies to achieve supply chain stability, adaptability, sustainability and cost reduction over the medium term, supporting the projects developed at Indian suppliers for the local as well as the other Client locations worldwide.
  • Diversifies the company's supplier base to ensure a robust ecosystem aligned with current and future trends, such as product design, electrification, sustainability
  • Oversees key supplier relationships, building networks and holding suppliers accountable to the company's standards, policies and KPIs through regular review meetings and performance coaching.

  • Supports the risk management framework for Indian suppliers, ensuring actions are followed up and risk is mitigated to acceptable levels
  • Implements tools to improve availability of supplier information, measurement of KPIs and ensures suppliers are held accountable to standards. Digitizes the supplier management process as far as possible
  • Provides updated information for identified projects to deliver net savings, supplier improvement, quality improvement, supplier consolidation
  • Conducts regular audits and assessments to identify gaps and implement corrective actions
  • Ensures suppliers adhere to necessary accreditations / certifications to ensure that products meet required standards and specifications for industry and customer requirements
  • Develops key identified suppliers as strategic suppliers to Client
  • Ensures best practices are applied and works collaboratively with engineering leaders to ensure optimization of cost and quality for new products during prototype and development phases
  • Leads, mentors, and develops the local sourcing organization. Ensures that succession plans are in place for key positions
  • Ensures compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory and abides by company policies at all times.

    • Competencies & Experience :

  • Strategic sourcing leadership experience of 10 years in engineered products
  • Experience building a multi-year pipeline delivering year on year savings and a business rhythm holding people accountable for delivering real P&L savings
  • Data driven / target driven, problem-solving skills, ability to identify and resolve complex issues
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable processes, technologies, and best practices
  • High level coaching and influencing skills
  • People management including ability to identify and develop talent deeper within the structure
  • Presentation skills, delivering presentations to senior leadership as well as broader organisation
  • Cultural awareness and sensitivity - experience in building or managing sourcing hub in India / Asia highly regarded
  • Fluent in English. Other languages a bonus

    • Professional Qualifications - B.E / M E (Mechanical)

    Other - Flexibility to travel up to 20% of the time
