We are looking for an experienced Unreal Engine consultant to join our dynamic team!
WHAT WE NEED (READ CAREFULLY BEFORE APPLYING)
- In this role, You’ll own the rendering pipeline in Unreal Engine—designing, profiling, and optimizing real-time graphics with Unreal Engine’s rendering architecture to conduct a comprehensive literature study, benchmarking, and prototype evaluation of Ray Tracing algorithms and rendering pipelines.
- The role involves both research and hands-on development — from exploring industry implementations to building small-scale prototypes and generating benchmark reports for comparisonnd complex VFX. You’ll work hands-on in C++, iterate with Scientists / Researchers, and push UE’s renderer (Lumen / Nanite / TSR) to deliver stable, scalable visuals across target platforms

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Research & Literature Review :Study state-of-the-art Ray Tracing and Hybrid Rendering algorithms used in real-time engines (Unreal, Unity, Frostbite, RE Engine, etc.). Summarize findings on quality, performance, scalability, and GPU utilization.Algorithm Development :Implement and experiment with custom Ray Tracing algorithms (path tracing, hybrid rasterization + RT, denoising, acceleration structures) inside Unreal Engine 5.Benchmark Architecture :Design a benchmarking framework to evaluate rendering performance across different algorithms, GPUs, and scenes.Include key metrics such as frame time, BVH build / update cost, memory footprint, and light transport accuracy.Technical Prototype :Develop a working technical demo that visualizes Ray Tracing effects, demonstrating trade-offs between quality and performance.Reporting & Insights :Create a comprehensive benchmarking report comparing performance and visual fidelity across algorithms, settings, and hardware configurations.Present recommendations for optimal rendering setups for real-time or cinematic use.REQUIRED SKILLS
Strong proficiency in C++ (C++17 or higher) and Unreal Engine 5 rendering systems.Experience with Ray Tracing frameworks (DXR, RTX, Vulkan RT, or OptiX).Deep understanding of rendering pipelines, shader authoring (HLSL / USF), and acceleration structures (BVH, TLAS, BLAS).Familiar with Render Dependency Graph (RDG), RHI, and post-process passes in UE.Competence in GPU profiling tools — RenderDoc, Nsight, PIX, Unreal Insights.Experience in benchmark design and performance data visualization (CSV, Python matplotlib, or Unreal debug HUDs).Excellent research, technical writing, and documentation skills.PREFERRED SKILLS
Exposure to path tracing denoising techniques (ReSTIR, NRD, DLSS Ray Reconstruction).Knowledge of GPU compute programming (CUDA, DX12 compute, or Vulkan).Understanding of multi-GPU scaling, memory streaming, and HDR pipelines.Experience with academic-style comparative studies or technical benchmarking papers.Passion for photoreal rendering, simulation, and performance optimization.TOOLS AND TECHNOLOGIES
