Role Overview :
Responsible for ensuring end-to-end statutory and labour law compliance for all Zepto entities and store locations across India. The role covers Provident Fund, ESI, Professional Tax, LWF, Shops & Establishment, and other applicable employment laws. The position requires meticulous attention to statutory deadlines, accurate maintenance of records, and close coordination with payroll, finance, HR operations, and government departments.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Compliance Governance & Ownership
- End-to-end accountability for statutory and labour law compliance across PF, ESI, PT, LWF, Shops & Establishment, and related Acts.
- Ensure all statutory filings, challans, and returns are completed accurately and within deadlines through vendor coordination.
- Conduct monthly reviews of vendor performance and compliance deliverables.
- Implement internal controls and maintain 100% compliance adherence across locations.
2. Vendor Management & Coordination
Act as primary liaison between Zepto and the compliance vendor.Review vendor outputs – challans, registers, returns, and reports – for accuracy.Drive performance metrics, SLA adherence, and process improvements.Ensure timely closure of compliance gaps and escalations.3. Audit & Reporting
Prepare and maintain audit-ready documentation for internal, statutory, and external audits.Coordinate submission of statutory proofs, registers, and challans during audit reviews.Publish monthly / quarterly compliance dashboards for management.Address audit observations and ensure timely rectification.4. Employee & Stakeholder Support
Resolve escalated employee PF, ESI, and other statutory queries.Coordinate with payroll, HR, and finance teams for validation of compliance data.Ensure seamless handling of claims, transfers, and grievance resolutions through the vendor.5. Statutory Advisory & Process Improvement
Track and interpret updates to labour laws, contribution rates, and government circulars.Provide advisory inputs to management on compliance risk mitigation.Drive automation, digital record-keeping, and process efficiency.Qualifications :
Graduate / Postgraduate in Commerce or Human Resources (B.Com / MBA HR preferred).6–8 years of experience in statutory and labour compliance management.Strong knowledge of EPFO, ESIC, PT, LWF, and Shops & Establishment regulations.Experience managing vendors or third-party compliance partners.Advanced Excel and reporting proficiency.Key Competencies :
