Description GSPANN is hiring a Power BI Analyst to design and optimize business intelligence solutions. The role includes building Power BI semantic models, managing Azure Analysis Services, implementing Row-Level Security, and working with Microsoft Fabric (OneLake).
Role and Responsibilities
- Author and optimize queries and views to enhance analytical performance.
- Design and manage cubes, including measures, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and hierarchies.
- Configure partitions and set performance tiers for optimal resource usage.
- Build tabular models by defining relationships, creating calculated measures using Data Analysis Expressions (DAX), and developing Dataflows.
- Transform data using Power Query and the M language to prepare datasets for reporting.
- Create, optimize, and maintain Delta Tables for efficient data storage and processing.
- Implement Mirror Tables and Direct Lake architectures to streamline data access.
- Connect Microsoft Fabric to Azure Databricks (good to have).
- Define both dynamic and static security roles to control access.
- Test and validate user-based access controls to ensure compliance.
- Size and scale compute and storage capacity to meet workload demands.
- Monitor utilization and optimize costs effectively.
- Write and tune Transact-SQL (T-SQL) queries in Azure SQL, Synapse, and related platforms.
- Create views, stored procedures, and maintenance scripts to support database operations.
Skills and Experience
Use Fabric Notebooks with PySpark for big data processing through Apache Spark APIs.Apply Python programming for scalable data transformation and processing tasks.Orchestrate data pipelines and integrate multiple data sources using Azure Data Factory (ADF).Develop advanced DAX formulas, including time-intelligence calculations, complex measures, and performance tuning.Implement Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI / CD) using Git, Azure DevOps pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code tools.Integrate data via REST / OData connectors and custom Application Programming Interface (API) ingestion methods.Diagnose performance issues through query analysis and bottleneck identification.Leverage Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and data cataloging tools for monitoring and governance.Document solutions, processes, and designs thoroughly in Confluence.
