Job description

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, maintain, and enhance robust semantic data models in Power BI, ensuring accuracy, scalability, and performance.
  • Build visually compelling, user-friendly Power BI dashboards and reports that deliver actionable business insights for multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders and analysts to translate requirements into well-structured semantic models, datasets, and effective dashboards.
  • Implement and optimize DAX calculations, relationships, and hierarchies within Power BI to meet diverse reporting and dashboarding needs.
  • Review, refactor, and implement improvements in both semantic models and dashboards for efficiency, clarity, and best practices.
  • Ensure all models and dashboards align with governance, security, and data quality standards.
  • Diagnose dashboard-related issues, including data or performance bottlenecks, and implement scalable solutions.
  • Support the onboarding and enablement of users for self-service BI using high-quality semantic models and reusable dashboards.
  • Partner with data engineering to optimize Power BI Dataflows and connections from Snowflake to Power BI.
  • Provide technical mentorship to BI analysts and power users on model and dashboard best practices.
  • Stay current on Power BI features and industry trends, proactively recommending new capabilities and enhancements.

Requirements

Must-Have :

  • 5+ years of experience with Power BI development.
  • 5+ years in a Data Analytics role at a B2B SaaS company.
  • Demonstrated expertise in building, maintaining, and improving Power BI semantic models.
  • Strong knowledge of DAX, M, relational database modeling, query performance optimization, and other advanced Power BI features / functionalities.
  • Ability to translate business questions and requests into an effective and efficient data story.
  • Proven DAX troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.

    • Nice-to-Have :

  • Experience with Snowflake, SQL, Python, Dax Studio, Salesforce, and Pendo.
  • Knowledge of data governance, cataloging, and master data management.
  • A portfolio of Power BI dashboards that you have personally built yourself (example dashboards that are formatted as .PBIX, .JPEG, or .PNG files are acceptable).
