Job description

Responsible for end-to-end execution of wind projects including commissioning, STPT, PCT, and HOTO to OMS & Customer—within the defined budget and timeline. Ensure zero fatalities and 100% quality adherence in all customer deliverables.

Key Roles & Responsibilities :

1. Project Execution & Planning

  • Optimize project construction plans to meet budget and contractual obligations without deviation from the approved execution plan
  • Execute risk mitigation strategies and implement action plans
  • Ensure project execution aligns with cost, quality, and timeline commitments
  • Monitor performance norms and drive improvements in execution efficiency

2. Customer & Vendor Management

  • Manage customer relations to ensure smooth execution and handover
  • Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely completion of work as per contractual points (CPs)
  • Ensure Work Completion Certificates (WCCs) are signed off before invoice acceptance
  • Maintain cordial relations with vendors and ensure timely payment processing
  • 3. Compliance & Safety (HSE / QAP)

  • Implement and ensure adherence to HSE plans and Quality Assurance Protocols (QAP)
  • Promote safety culture and enforce compliance among all stakeholders
  • Ensure 100% reporting and closure of Unsafe Conditions (UC), Unsafe Acts (UA), and Near Misses
  • Ensure zero fatalities and maintain a safe working environment
  • 4. Coordination & Internal Communication

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams : PALM, SCM, Engineering, QHSE, Project Controller
  • Conduct regular reviews with HoDs to resolve project bottlenecks
  • Escalate issues to functional and line managers as needed for timely resolution
  • 5. Resource & Material Management

  • Certify log sheets for resources deployed (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Cranes, etc.)
  • Ensure timely return of plant returnables to stores
  • Monitor and reduce resource costs and achieve efficiency targets
  • Coordinate timely material receipt and reconciliation
  • 6. People Development & Training

  • Train site staff on supervision, quality, and compliance protocols
  • Control Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) by minimizing Non-Conformity Reports (NCRs)
  • Drive people engagement initiatives and finalize IDPs (Individual Development Plans)
  • Submit training man-day data to HR for tracking and implementation
  • 7. Performance Monitoring

  • Track commissioning to HOTO timeline and ensure smooth handover
  • Ensure documentation and data submissions for all reporting and audit requirements
  • Key Metrics / KPIs :

  • Plan vs. Actual – Project Execution Deliverables
  • Execution Cost per MW – Budget vs. Actual
  • Zero Liquidated Damages (LD)
  • Customer Satisfaction Score >
  • 80%

  • Reduction in COPQ (NCR + Rework Cost)
  • Zero Man & Machine Fatality
  • Crane Efficiency – Norms vs. Actual
  • 33kV Line Length per WTG – Design vs. Actual
  • 5% Reduction in Resource Cost
  • IDP Training Man-days – Plan vs. Actual
  • Commissioning to HOTO Timeline – Plan vs. Actual
  • Preferred Candidate Profile :

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the wind energy sector
  • Proven expertise in construction management at wind project sites
  • Strong leadership, planning, coordination, and execution skills
  • Excellent knowledge of HSE, quality, and vendor management protocols
