Chief Sales Officer (CSO)
will spearhead the overall growth strategy and business leadership of the company’s
Solar Energy vertical
, overseeing all aspects of
Product Sales and Solar Project
The CSO will be responsible for
end-to-end business development, sales management, tendering, commercials, revenue realization, billing, collections, customer relationship management
, and
team leadership
, ensuring sustainable growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Business Growth & Market Development
Formulate and execute strategic plans for business expansion across
Solar Products, IPP, and EPC projects
in Utility and C&I sectors.
Identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities with industrial, institutional, and utility-scale clients.
Develop partnerships and alliances with key stakeholders to enhance market presence and brand visibility.
Define and deliver annual business, revenue, and profitability targets for each business line.
2. Tendering, Bidding & Project Acquisition
Lead tendering, proposal preparation, and bid management for Government, PSU, and Private sector projects.
Ensure timely and accurate submission of techno-commercial proposals in collaboration with Engineering, Finance, and Legal teams.
Evaluate project risk, financial viability, and profitability prior to bid submission.
Oversee negotiation and finalization of contracts and project awards.
3. Revenue, Commercials & Collections
Manage the complete order-to-cash process including order booking, billing, collections, and receivables.
Drive financial discipline across sales and project operations to ensure margin protection.
Review and control commercial terms and conditions in line with business policies.
4. EPC & IPP Project Coordination
Coordinate closely with Engineering, Projects, and Supply Chain teams to ensure timely and quality project execution.
Oversee IPP project development, including PPA management, land acquisition, and regulatory compliance.
Ensure operational excellence from
PO receipt to product dispatch
and
project commissioning
5. Product Sales & Portfolio Management
Lead the Solar Product Sales business targeting C&I and distributed generation clients.
Provide strategic direction for product development, pricing strategy, and market positioning.
Monitor market trends, customer requirements, and competitor activities to maintain a competitive edge.
6. Customer Relations & Business Retention
Maintain strong relationships with key customers, EPC partners, consultants, and government bodies.
Ensure timely resolution of client concerns, high customer satisfaction, and repeat business.
Represent the organization in key industry forums and business associations.
7. Leadership & Team Management
Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing Sales, Tendering, and Commercial team.
Promote a culture of ownership, performance excellence, and teamwork.
Set clear KPIs, conduct periodic reviews, and ensure delivery against business objectives.
Qualifications & Experience :
Education :
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering; MBA preferred.
Experience : Minimum
20+ years
in
Sales, Business Development, and Commercial Operations
in the
Solar Energy / Renewable Energy industry
Proven experience in managing
Solar Product Sales and Project Businesses (IPP & EPC models) across Utility Scale and C&I segments
Strong understanding of
bidding processes, project development, execution models, and power purchase structures
