A bit about your role

As the Experience Design Lead, you will be at the forefront of shaping nbn’s design maturity and readiness for emerging technologies. Your role will focus on evolving our design system into a dynamic product that supports scalable, inclusive, and intelligent design across multiple platforms. You will integrate AI, automation, and augmentation to future-proof workflows, enabling cross-functional teams to deliver consistent, efficient, and adaptive user experiences. You will take ownership of delivering high-quality interaction design artefacts such as wireframes, sitemaps, and navigation schemes, while translating business concepts into engaging visualisations and infographics. You will lead user-centred research activities, including iterative testing and contextual inquiries, ensuring that insights inform design decisions throughout the agile delivery process. At a strategic level, you will define and evolve the vision for our design system, integrating AI-powered tools and establishing governance models that uphold ethical and inclusive practices. Your stewardship will ensure reusable components and guidelines are documented and maintained, supporting diverse platforms and emerging technologies. You will also champion sustainability and accessibility, exploring adaptive and multi-modal systems that respond to user context and device needs.

A bit about you

If this sounds like the role for you, it’s likely that you have extensive experience in experience design leadership and design system governance. You are highly skilled in interaction design and user research, with a strong understanding of agile delivery frameworks. You bring knowledge of AI-powered design tools and emerging technology trends, and you thrive in collaborative environments where you can influence stakeholders and lead workshops to achieve consensus. Above all, you are passionate about creating inclusive, ethical, and sustainable design solutions that deliver meaningful outcomes for users and the business.
