The Morning Standard and The Sunday Standard are published in New Delhi. The company also brings out Tamil daily Dinamani and Samakalika Malayalam Varika, a weekly magazine in Malayalam.

Kannada Prabha is a leading Kannada language daily news website published by The New Indian Express Group. We are committed to delivering high-quality news and information to our readers and are looking for a talented Content Editor to join our team.

Job Description :

  • We are seeking a skilled and experienced Content Editor who is well-versed in the Kannada language to oversee the content for Kannada Prabha. The ideal candidate will have a strong editorial background, excellent Kannada language proficiency, and a keen eye for detail. The Content Editor will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, quality, and integrity of our published content.

    • Key Responsibilities :

    Content Editing and Proofreading :

  • Edit and proofread articles, news stories, and other content for accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
  • Ensure that all content adheres to the publication's style guide and standards.
  • Check for grammar, punctuation, and spelling errors.

    • Content Development :

  • Collaborate with writers, reporters, and other editorial staff to develop high-quality content.
  • Provide constructive feedback and guidance to writers to improve their work.

    • News Monitoring and Research :

  • Stay updated with current events, news trends, and developments in Kannada-speaking regions.
  • Conduct research to verify facts and ensure the credibility of the content.

    • Content Strategy :

  • Assist in planning and developing the editorial calendar.
  • Contribute to the development of content strategies to increase readership and engagement.

    • Team Collaboration :

  • Work closely with the editorial team, including reporters, photographers, and designers.
  • Coordinate with the digital team to ensure content is effectively presented on online platforms.

    • Quality Control :

  • Maintain high editorial standards and ensure that all published content meets the publication's quality benchmarks.
  • Implement and uphold editorial policies and guidelines.

    • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Kannada Literature, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in content editing, writing, or journalism, preferably with a Kannada publication.
  • Exceptional proficiency in Kannada language, including grammar, spelling, and syntax.
  • Strong editorial judgment and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with digital content management systems and online publishing tools is a plus.
