Job Title : Analyst / Executive

Exp : 3-5 Yrs

Qualification : B.E Chemical / Mechanical with preferred material management qualification

Function : CRO Procurement R&D

Location : Pune

Shifts : Morning Afternoon & Night (Applicable)

Job responsibilities :

  • Strategic Sourcing & Category Management
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for CRO services including clinical trials pharmacovigilance and regulatory support.
  • Lead supplier selection RFx processes QCS contract negotiations & Awarding.
  • Work closely with CRO Procurement Global R&D stakeholders; Regional Regulatory Business & Finance to ensure all project / budget requirements and schedules are met.
  • Manage the PR to PO process & Experience in managing sourcing projects.
  • Expert in Market Intelligence as monitor market trends current situation.
  • Identify inefficiencies in CRO procurement workflows and implement process enhancements.
  • Support digital transformation initiatives (e.g. Ivalua Ariba) to automate sourcing and contract management.
  • Promote standardization and best practices across global R&D procurement.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Partner with R&D Agro chemical Operations Legal and Finance teams to align procurement activities with business goals.
  • Act as a procurement advisor for clinical development teams during project planning and execution.
  • Supplier Relationship Management
  • Manage global CRO partnerships to ensure service quality compliance and performance.
  • Conduct regular supplier business reviews and performance evaluations.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Capex Procurement Management : Execute procurement activities for Agro Trial Services R&D Chemical contracts Field research services technical development Lab Installation & Regulatory studies for global regions.
  • Ensure alignment with organizational goals focusing on cost savings timely delivery and quality standards.
  • Apply the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) concept to evaluate lifecycle costs and drive value in procurement decisions.
  • Stakeholder Management : Work closely with Category Lead to deliver on KPIs.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders including Global Trials Regulatory Services finance and project management teams to understand and meet project-specific requirements.
  • Maintain strong relationships across multiple region stakeholders and departments to ensure smooth execution of procurement activities in a dynamic multi-plant environment.
  • Negotiation Excellence : Lead high-value negotiations with suppliers and contractors to secure favourable terms pricing and service levels.
  • Leverage market intelligence and cost analysis to meet savings targets and drive procurement efficiencies.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and ensure compliance with quality cost and delivery standards.
  • Foster long-term partnerships with local and alternative vendors to ensure a diverse and competitive supplier base.
  • Sourcing Project Management & multiple rounds of bidding : Manage sourcing projects using advanced procurement platforms.
  • Knowledge of e-sourcing tools like Ivalua or SAP Ariba is an added advantage.
  • Compliance & Documentation : Ensure all procurement activities comply with legal statutory and internal governance policies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records to support audits internal reviews and procurement transparency.
  • Order Management & Delivery : Finalize offers release purchase orders and manage end-to-end procurement processes to ensure timely delivery of Capex items.
  • Monitor delivery schedules and resolve any supply chain issues to meet project deadlines.
  • Communication & Reporting : Exhibit excellent communication skills to manage stakeholders effectively resolve conflicts and articulate procurement strategies to senior management.
  • Prepare and present procurement reports including cost-saving achievements vendor performance and project progress to relevant stakeholders.
  • Knowledge & Data Management : Build and maintain a data repository of market intelligence supplier capabilities and emerging trends in Capex procurement.
  • Use data-driven insights to refine procurement strategies and optimize supplier performance.
  • Technical Skills Requirements :

  • Mandatory : Proficiency in Ivalua & SAP for procurement and Coordination with CROs.
  • Strong understanding of the QCS concept.
  • Experience in managing sourcing projects Create RFX QCS Awarding and conducting reverse auctions.
  • Proven expertise in handling CRO Procurement for R&D and Regulatory services.
  • Key Competencies :

  • Stakeholder Management : Strong collaboration skills to manage diverse stakeholders across multiple plants and departments.

  • Analytical Thinking : Expertise in cost estimation market analysis and supplier evaluation to drive strategic procurement decisions.
  • Multi-Stakeholder Coordination : Ability to manage procurement activities across a multi-region while meeting project-specific timelines and requirements.
  • Sourcing & E-Procurement : Familiarity with e-sourcing tools like Ivalua or SAP Ariba for sourcing projects and reverse auctions is an added advantage.
  • Compliance & Governance : In-depth understanding of procurement best practices compliance requirements and audit processes.
