Role Overview
The Senior Relationship Manager is a pivotal, on-site role based in Karnal, responsible for driving Banca channel business growth and managing the complex relationship matrix between PNB MetLife, its bank partners (specifically Punjab National Bank), and high-value retail clients.
This position requires a high degree of financial acumen, advanced sales strategy execution, and exceptional relationship lifecycle management skills to achieve aggressive sales targets across protection, retirement, and employee benefit insurance products.
The incumbent will act as the primary interface, ensuring strategic alignment between the insurer and the bank to maximize premium income and market penetration while strictly adhering to regulatory compliance and ethical sales practices.
Key Responsibilities and Deliverables
Strategic Channel Management :
- Establish, deepen, and manage productive relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers within the assigned bank partner branches (PNB) to drive the insurance business and achieve premium targets.
Business Development & Sales Execution :
Spearhead the end-to-end sales process, including prospecting, need analysis, proposal presentation, and closure of insurance policies, specializing in cross-selling and upselling to the bank's existing customer base.Financial Product Expertise :
Maintain a deep, technical understanding of PNB MetLifes comprehensive product portfolio (e.g., ULIPs, traditional savings, term plans, pensions) and effectively articulate complex features, benefits, and tax implications to clients and bank staff.Target and Performance Achievement :
Develop and execute detailed business plans to consistently meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and persistency targets (e.g., New Business Premium (NBP), Renewal Premium, Policy Count).Relationship and Client Servicing :
Conduct regular, high-impact client meetings (both individually and jointly with bank staff) to build rapport, conduct financial reviews, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty, minimizing policy lapses.Compliance and Reporting :
Ensure 100% adherence to all IRDAI regulations, organizational policies, and the banks internal processes.Accurately report sales activities, pipeline status, and market intelligence using MS Office applications and relevant CRM tools.Training and Mentorship :
Conduct informal product training and coaching sessions for bank staff to enhance their insurance knowledge and motivation, ensuring they effectively refer quality leads and understand the referral process protocols.Required Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in Client Relationship Management and fostering robust, long-term connections, ideally within a Bancassurance or financial services environment.Proven track record in Sales, Target Achievement, and successfully implementing cross-selling / upselling strategies for financial or insurance products.Exceptional Communication, Presentation, and Negotiation skills, with the ability to articulate technical financial concepts clearly to diverse audiences.Excellent Time Management, Organizational skills, and proficiency in managing a large sales pipeline and client portfolio simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines.A Bachelors or Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Economics, or a closely related field.Prior experience (2+ years) specifically within the insurance or financial services industry is strongly preferred.Proficiency in operating MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with industry-standard Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools is required.(ref : iimjobs.com)
