The ICT Systems Administrator will provide high-level technical support across M365, networking, and virtual infrastructure environments. You will ensure system reliability, security compliance, and continuous improvement of ICT services. The role includes mentoring junior staff, managing incidents, and supporting projects that align with organisational goals. This position supports approximately 600 users across 43 locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and troubleshoot M365 (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Power Platform) and Entra ID.
- Manage Active Directory, Azure, and Conditional Access policies.
- Maintain and optimise Windows Desktop and Server environments via VMware.
- Implement and manage Essential 8 and ICT Security Strategy compliance.
- Support and troubleshoot Cisco and Juniper networking across multiple sites.
- Provide level 2.5 / 3 ICT support and mentor level 1 engineers.
- Manage patching, vulnerability remediation, and system upgrades.
- Maintain Citrix VDI environment and support Teams voice solutions.
- Document procedures and assist with project delivery and user training.
- Promote strong collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Highly desirable criteria
- Experience with Citrix administration and virtual desktop infrastructure.
- Experience with VMware ESXi and vSphere environments.
- Familiarity with Juniper Mist and Cisco networking systems.
- Exposure to ICT service delivery in multi-site or government settings.
Desirable criteria
- Understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and issues affecting First Nations peoples.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with First Nations communities.
- Experience supporting outcomes for First Nations peoples.
Skills and experience
- Minimum 5 years in ICT systems administration.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft technologies including M365, Azure, Entra ID, Endpoint Manager, AD, SCCM, Teams telephony, SharePoint, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policies.
- Networking experience with Cisco and Juniper systems.
- Proven ability to manage patching and system security compliance.
- Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills.
- Ability to work autonomously in a small, high-performing technical team.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
