We are seeking a hands-on, senior-level L3 Network Engineer with 10-12 years of deep technical expertise in core network routing, MPLS, and network transformation projects. This role requires expert protocol-level understanding, live network migration experience, and multi-vendor platform integration, including Huawei-to-Cisco router swaps and new installation. You will be responsible for designing, configuring, validating, and optimizing network elements across core, aggregation, and edge layers, ensuring seamless traffic migration, high availability, and security compliance. This role demands end-to-end ownership of routing design, switch / router / firewall configuration, protocol optimization, and MOP-driven change execution.
Key Responsibilities :
- Advanced knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), switching technologies (STP, VLANs, VXLAN, EVPN), and WAN protocols (MPLS, LDP, IPSEC).
- Hands on experience in Installation and configuration of Routers, Switches & Firewall
- Hands-on experience with Cisco, Huawei, Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Check Point, or equivalent devices. Deploy and configure Cisco NX-OS Layer 2 / 3 switches in telecom aggregation and core network sites and Rolling back procedure to previous original versions
- Having experience in installing Cisco IOS, IOS-XE, IOS-XR, NX-OS
- Configure, troubleshoot, and optimize core routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, IS-IS) and switching technologies (STP, VLANs, LACP, VPC, VRRP).
- Configure Vlan, Routing, NAT, ACL & Failover in Routers / Switches.
- Upgrading the IOS / Firmware / Patches as per Security team request and Vendor advisory
- Strong carrier grade network design, migration and implementation experience of MPLS and MPLS based VPN solutions
- Expertise in firewalls, VPN technologies, and network security concepts.
- Hands on experience in implementing ACI, Spine and Leaf Data centre design architecture
- Have Knowledge to configure VPN, VRF, RD, RT, MPLS L3 VPN
- Having Knowledge to configure Access List, SNMP, TACACS, NTP, AAA, IPv4, IPv6
- Draft and own comprehensive Method of Procedure (MOP) documents for every network change, including detailed rollback steps and validation benchmarks.
- Perform critical pre / post-checks : ping, traceroute, ARP resolution, BGP peer checks, RIB / FIB verification
- Execute software upgrades, NIP-based configuration automation, and base OS deployments on routers / switches.
- Push and validate device licenses from centralized license servers; manage registration and compliance status.
- Collaborate with NOC, operations, and security teams for incident resolution, change execution, and post-deployment validation.
- Maintain accurate and updated network topology diagrams, device inventories, and change records.
- Implement and manage various WAN technologies like MPLS, VPNs, and SD-WAN.
- Understanding of overlay and Underlay network used in Data Centre
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies Hypervisor – ESXi, Hyper-V
- Basic Knowledge of security Domain : IPSec, VPN, SSL, DDoS
- Performing User Acceptance Testing UAT
- Basic Understanding of ITIL : Incident Management, Change Management, RCA
- Experience with large-scale core / aggregation rollouts in telecom or ISP environments
- Familiarity with SDN (Segment Routing, PCEP) or network orchestration tools
- CCIE or CCNP or certifications.
