Role Purpose :
You will mentor students in 3D environment art, helping them gain industry-ready technical and artistic skills. Your primary role is teaching, guiding projects, reviewing student work, and ensuring students understand the full 3D environment art pipeline-modeling, texturing, lighting, optimization-but not contributing to actual production.
Key Responsibilities :
- Teach 3D environment art subjects to students enrolled in Bachelors, Masters, Advanced Diploma, or Certification courses.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver lectures, demonstrations, practical workshops focusing on modeling props, modular environments, texturing, UV mapping, lighting, and materials.
- Guide students’ assignments and projects : review work, give feedback, help iterate.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tools and industry workflows (Substance Painter, Maya / Blender, Unreal Engine or similar) and bring those into classroom examples.
- Support in developing student portfolios for internships / job applications (critique, polish, mock-ups).
- Collaborate with other mentors / instructors on curriculum updates and lab assignments relevant for environment art.
- Hold lab sessions / supervised practice hours to help students with technical challenges in their projects.
Required Skills & Experience :
Strong working skills in 3D environment asset creation : modeling, UV unwrapping, texturing (PBR), and basic lighting.Good proficiency in software like Blender / Maya, Substance Painter, and at least one real-time engine (Unreal / Unity) for previewing environments.Portfolio demonstrates ability to design and build complete 3D environment scenes or sets.Ability to explain technical / artistic concepts clearly to beginners / intermediate learners.Patience, feedback-oriented mindset, willingness to help students iterate and improve.Desirable / Bonus :
Experience in modular environment design (creating reusable props, tiling textures).Experience with stylized environments as well as realistic ones.Good knowledge of game art optimization (polycount, draw calls, texture memory).Experience mentoring, tutoring or teaching others.Knowledge of basic shader setup or lighting techniques in game engines.Who You Are :

Proficiency 3D modeling software such as Maya, Blender, or 3ds Max
Experience in environment design and rendering techniques

Passion for gaming and a commitment to staying updated with industry trends
Previous teaching or mentoring experience is a plus
Bachelor's degree in game design, Animation, or a related field
