About the role
We are seeking a Power BI Developer to build, maintain, and scale our marketing analytics reporting stack. You will own the end-to-end lifecycle in Power BI from data ingestion and modeling to DAX, visualization, publishing, governance, and performance tuning so marketing leaders can make timely, data-driven decisions on campaigns, spend, and growth.
What will you do?
- Own Power BI end-to-end.
- Build semantic models and enterprise datasets in Power BI Desktop and Service.
- Develop measures using advanced DAX; transform data with Power Query / M.
- Design effective visuals, navigation, drill-through, tooltips, bookmarks, and report UX.
- Publish to Power BI Service, manage workspaces, schedules, and subscriptions.
- Build and maintain marketing campaign dashboards :
- Track acquisition, funnel conversion, ROAS, CAC, LTV, attribution, retention, and engagement KPIs.
- Oversee the upkeep of existing dashboards; confirm KPI definitions and data lineage.
- Document metrics, calculations, and business logic in a data dictionary.
- Translate requirements into reporting solutions :
- Collaborate with stakeholders, business groups, and corporate teams to gather needs and design reports.
- Partner with marketers to map campaign strategy to data capture and reporting (e.g., UTM taxonomy, event schemas) and validate instrumentation.
- Data modeling and performance optimization :
- Design star / snowflake schemas; implement aggregations, query reduction, and measure branching.
- Optimize with query folding, incremental refresh, composite models, DirectQuery vs Import decisions.
- Implement row-level / object-level security (RLS / OLS) and sensitivity labels.
- Data quality and governance.
- Create Dataflows for upstream cleansing; profile, standardize, and monitor data quality.
- Establish governance : naming conventions, certified / endorsed datasets, versioning, and lineage.
- Use deployment pipelines for dev / test / prod and manage on-prem data gateways as needed.
- Integrations and sources :
- Work with Data Engineering on pipelines; support extremely large datasets with optimization techniques.
- Identify trends and patterns; deliver actionable insights to improve campaign planning and effectiveness.
- Create reusable report templates and train users; promote self-service analytics best practices.
- Keep up with Power BI and Microsoft Fabric capabilities; recommend process / tool improvements.
What will you need?
5+ years in data analytics, including 3+ years building production-grade solutions in Power BI.Expert-level DAX and Power Query (M) proficiency.Proven experience designing semantic models and star schemas for medium-to-large datasets.Hands-on with Power BI Service : workspaces, gateways, scheduled refresh, incremental refresh, deployment pipelines, RLS / OLS, subscriptions.Strong analytical skills to gather, organize, analyze, and present complex data with accuracy.Demonstrated judgment and decision-making; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.Clear written and verbal communication; ability to translate business needs into technical designs.Excellent organization, planning, and stakeholder management; effective negotiation skills.Team-first mindset; able to work independently and across cross-functional teams.Technologically savvy with data visualization tools : Power BI, Advanced Excel; familiarity with SharePoint and Teams.What do you get?
