Job Summary :
The School Operations Manager is responsible for managing all non-academic functions of the school to ensure a safe, efficient, and thriving environment for students, staff, and parents. This includes oversight of operations, health & safety, facilities, support staff, procurement, compliance with Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA) and other authorities, as well as support in promoting the school and facilitating its long-term development.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Facilities & Infrastructure :
Oversee maintenance and improvement of school buildings, grounds, and utilities.
Ensure cleanliness, security, and maintenance schedules are maintained efficiently.
Liaise with contractors for construction, refurbishment, and renovation projects.
2. Health & Safety :
Ensure compliance with Sharjah Civil Defense , SPEA , and national health and safety standards.
Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and emergency drills.
Maintain health and safety documentation and coordinate staff training.
Lead emergency preparedness and manage crisis response procedures.
3. School Operations & Administration :
Supervise day-to-day administrative functions, including reception, canteen, uniforms, and supplies.
Manage school support staff and ensure smooth daily functioning of services.
Streamline operational processes and maintain administrative accuracy.
4. Regulatory Compliance :
Ensure school operations align with SPEA , Municipality , and Civil Defense requirements.
Manage documentation, renewals, and inspections with relevant authorities.
Stay current with regulatory changes and update school practices accordingly.
5. Finance & Procurement :
Assist with the creation and management of the operational budget.
Manage procurement of goods and services, ensuring value for money and transparency.
Oversee vendor selection, contract negotiations, and service delivery standards.
6. Transport Management :
Oversee school transportation services, ensuring safety, timeliness, and compliance.
Coordinate routes, drivers, and communication with parents.
8. School Event & Facility Support :
Coordinate logistics for internal and external school events and functions.
Manage venue setup, resources, and support staffing.
9. School Promotion & Development :
Collaborate with the leadership team on strategic planning and long-term school development initiatives.
Support infrastructure enhancements aligned with enrollment growth and academic goals.
Assist in showcasing the school’s operational excellence during inspections, tours, and parent visits.
Work with marketing / admissions teams to ensure operational readiness for events like open days, exhibitions, and community outreach.
Propose improvements in physical environment and services to enhance student and parent experience.
Contribute to sustainability initiatives, digital transformation, and innovation in school operations.
Qualifications & Experience :
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field (Master’s preferred).
Minimum 5 years of experience in school operations or facilities management in the UAE (experience in Sharjah is an advantage).
In-depth understanding of SPEA , Sharjah Municipality , Civil Defense , and UAE labor laws.
Fluent in English; Arabic is a plus.
Strong IT skills, including MS Office and ERP / school management platforms.
