The Job

What You’ll Do

Lead UI / UX design in Figma, from wireframes and prototypes to final design assets

Work with the product team to create low-fidelity wireframes for rapid discovery and iteration

Translate concepts into clean, logical, scalable UI / UX flows that developers can implement with confidence

Build and maintain a Figma component library / design system aligned with React best practices

Collaborate with developers to ensure designs are feasible, consistent, and well-structured

Conduct design reviews and provide feedback to ensure quality and usability

Pay attention to micro-interactions, spacing, typography, and accessibility

Support continuous improvement of product usability and visual consistency

Requirements

5+ years of professional UI / UX design experience (SaaS, dashboards, or complex apps preferred)

Expert in Figma : components, auto-layout, variants, design tokens, prototyping

Strong portfolio showcasing clean, modern UI / UX for data-heavy applications

Ability to design component-based systems that map well to React or similar frameworks

Experience producing both low-fi wireframes and high-fi production-ready designs

Solid understanding of UX principles, user journeys, and accessibility best practices

Comfortable collaborating with developers, understanding their workflows and constraints

Detail-oriented — avoids sloppy design, enforces consistency in spacing, typography, and interactions

Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written)

Self-motivated, organized, and able to balance speed in discovery with precision in delivery

The Employer

Our client is a UK-based tech team seeking a dedicated UI / UX Designer to join us as a remote independent contractor. You’ll work closely with developers and product stakeholders to design intuitive, data-centric applications that balance usability, consistency, and clean design. This role requires someone who can operate at both the product discovery level (low-fi wireframes, user journeys) and the pixel-perfect delivery level (final UI in Figma, component libraries, spacing systems).
