Job Title : Staff Cloud Test Engineer
Location : Bangalore
ABOUT THE ROLE : Staff Engineer - Cloud Test
We are looking for a Staff Cloud Test Engineer to join our Security and Platform QA team. In this role, you will take full ownership of building test designs and test plans for new and existing features, ensuring product reliability, scalability, and quality. You will be expected to work independently with minimal supervision while also mentoring junior engineers and guiding projects to completion.This is a high-impact position where your work will shape the quality of Aviatrix’s firewall and security services, significantly improving release velocity and system reliability.
Position Responsibilities :
- Own the full testing lifecycle : design, plan, and execute tests for complex cloud networking and security features.
- Drive automation : strengthen coverage, improve reliability, and reduce flakiness through white-box, end-to-end, and scale testing.
- Lead feature testing efforts : prioritize test cases, assess release readiness, and resolve critical blockers.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, set timelines, and ensure test strategies are executed effectively.
- Collaborate with developers to refine designs and influence implementation decisions.
- Troubleshoot complex networking and security issues, analyzing logs and customer-found defects.
- Contribute to process and tool improvements across QA frameworks and methodologies.
- Participate in on-call rotations and represent QA in interviews, cross-team initiatives, and community discussions.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.6+ years of experience in a networking-focused QA / test role.Strong understanding of protocols such as TCP / IP, UDP, etc.Experience testing network security platforms (e.g., threat detection, IDS / IPS).Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI).Proficiency in Linux environments and scripting (Python, Shell, or similar).Knowledge of performance testing tools (iperf, Ixia, etc.).Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.Excellent collaboration and communication abilities.
