Role Description
We are looking for a superstar to join our Design team. As a Design Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and constructing FRP structures by inspecting the drafting in detail, checking 3D models, managing detailed fabrication drawings, and coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of project drafting requirements. An ideal candidate must have expertise in Steel / FRP detailing techniques and CAD software.
Main Duties
- Design Engineers will coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements, timelines, and specifications.
- Managing detailed fabrication drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, and isometric views. These drawings are essential for the fabrication and construction of steel structures.
- Scrutinise technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure they comply with design standards, regulations, and project requirements.
- Verify accuracy and completeness of dimensions, tolerances, symbols, and annotations on drawings.
- Ensuring all connections between steel components are correctly designed and detailed, adhering to industry standards and codes.
- Quality Control : Review and check the drawings and models for accuracy and compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards.
- Collaborating with structural engineers, architects, and other professionals to resolve design and detailing issues and ensure the final product meets the project's requirements.
- Lead and coordinate a team of drafters, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure consistent quality and adherence to project timelines.
- Maintaining proper documentation of all design changes, revisions, and communications related to the drafting and detailing.
- Staying up to date with CAD software's latest features and capabilities to maximize efficiency and productivity in the detailing process.
- Ensuring all drawings and details adhere to relevant industry standards, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Staying updated with advancements in steel detailing technology and industry trends to improve efficiency and quality in the drafting process.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in CAD designing (SolidWorks or AutoCAD 3D, or Revit)Proficient in 2D and 3D drawingsStrong understanding of drafting techniques, principles, and standardsExperience working with FRP composite products or similar materials is highly desirableGood communication, problem-solving, and time-management skillsDegree in engineering, drafting, or a related field
