Job description : Research Engineer 3 for Magnetron coating
Summary
Saint Gobain, a global leader in construction material business, is looking for young engineer with PhD with 3-5 years of experience in Material science engineering / Physics / Solid State Chemistry. Candidate should have experience in vacuum deposition techniques, characterization of thin film. The role will be to design new product and develop competencies to check robustness of the products.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for magnetron product development related activities at Saint-Gobain Research India
- Optical thin film characterization and modelling
- Carry out projects independently or in collaboration with competency teams, universities, or research organization to develop understanding of deposition condition vs material-property correlation and overall impact on multi-layer thin film
- Develop techniques for evaluating performance such as chemical, mechanical durability of thin film
- Support competency teams / PLs in NPD projects, different studies etc.
- Participate in lab activities and implementation of 5S
Desired Skills And Experience
PhD in Material Science Engg / Physics / solid-state chemistry with 3-5 years of experienceUnderstanding of vacuum plasma deposition processes, optical materials, multilayer material characterization, will be advantageousExperience in solid state chemistry of thin film is desirableGlobal mindset, ability to work with cross functional teams and closely working with competency teamsWilling to travel on need basis to manufacturing plants and R&D centers across the globe (upto 30%)Skills Required
