We are seeking an experienced Senior Power BI Platform Engineer to take ownership of enterprise-scale Power BI environment. This is not just an administrative role ; we are looking for an engineer who will not only maintain and optimize our Power BI Premium capacities but also design and build the automated processes and utilities required for a robust, scalable, and secure governance framework .

You will be the technical cornerstone of the BI Center of Excellence, ensuring the platform runs efficiently while empowering our business users with a reliable and well-governed analytics ecosystem .

Roles and Responsibilities :

• Act as a key technical expert within the BI Center of Excellence, providing expert guidance and mentorship to data analysts and report creators across the organization
• Leverage the Power BI REST APIs, PowerShell or similar tools to automate administrative tasks, including workspace management, permissions auditing, and content lifecycle management
• Develop custom monitoring and alerting solutions to proactively identify potential issues with capacity utilization, data refreshes, or security compliance
• Build and maintain a centralized administrative semantic model by ingesting and analyzing Power BI audit logs and metadata to provide deep insights into platform usage and adoption
• Proactively monitor Power BI Premium / Fabric capacity utilization, performance metrics, and system health to ensure optimal resource allocation and prevent performance bottlenecks
• Manage capacity workloads, memory configuration, and workspace assignments to guarantee consistent performance for critical reports and large datasets
• Analyze usage patterns and consumption trends to provide data-driven recommendations for capacity planning, scaling, and right-sizing
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to data connectivity, report rendering, and capacity throttling
• Oversee and optimize data refresh schedules to maintain data timeliness while managing the impact on capacity resources
• Design, implement, and enforce a comprehensive data governance framework for Power BI, establishing a "single source of truth" for key business metrics
• Develop and manage a report certification and approval process to ensure data accuracy and prevent the of redundant or conflicting reports
• Establish and document best practices, naming conventions, and standards for data modeling, report development, and data visualization
• Ensure the Power BI environment adheres to all relevant data privacy and regulatory requirements
• Develop and deliver training materials, documentation, and self-service BI guidelines to promote data literacy and responsible data use
• Collaborate with stakeholders, IT teams, and business users and educate them to align the Power BI platform with organizational goals
• Proven, hands-on experience in administering a large-scale Power BI environment, with specific expertise in managing Power BI Premium capacities
• Experience in using tools like Fabric Capacity Metrics Tool, Memory analyzer, Best practice analyzer, PBI Monitor, or similar tools
• Strong experience with the Power BI REST API and / or PowerShell for automation and programmatic administration
• Expert-level proficiency with the Power BI Service, Power BI Desktop, DAX, and Power Query (M).
• Experience with Power BI premium / Fabric capacity administration and maintenance of different workspaces / apps
• Experience in establishing or contributing to a BI Center of Excellence (CoE)
• Microsoft certification, such as the Data Analyst Associate, is a plus
