Role Overview
The Cloud L1 Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day operational support and maintenance of the VMware virtualization environment, focusing on ticket resolution, monitoring, and basic provisioning tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Level 1 support for incidents and service requests related to the VMware infrastructure.
- Perform routine administrative tasks, including creating and managing Virtual Machines (VMs), Templates, and Snapshots.
- Monitor the health and performance of the vSphere 5.X, 6.0 / 6.5 environment.
- Assist with the migration of physical servers to virtual machines (P2V) and virtual machines between environments (V2V).
- Ensure the successful operation of core features such as vMotion and High Availability (HA).
- Maintain accurate documentation of the virtual infrastructure and troubleshooting steps.
Technical Skills & Qualifications
Minimum 2+ years of total experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 3 years of experience as a VM Administrator (this is a common industry overlap for L1 / L2 roles).Sound knowledge and hands-on experience with vSphere 5.X, 6.0 / 6.5.Strong understanding of vCenter, ESXi, and ESX host management.Familiarity with virtualization concepts like vMotion, HA, P2V, V2V, Templates, & Snapshots.Excellent communication and basic troubleshooting skills
