Job Title : Shopify Full Stack Developer

Location : Pune

Experience Level : Mid to Senior

Employment Type : Full-time

About the Role

We’re looking for a Shopify Full Stack Developer who is passionate about building seamless, high-performing, and visually stunning e-commerce experiences. You’ll work across Shopify’s front-end and back-end layers, developing custom themes, extending Shopify’s capabilities using Liquid and TypeScript, and integrating APIs to deliver scalable, optimized storefronts.

If you enjoy turning design mockups into pixel-perfect, fast-loading storefronts and love solving complex e-commerce challenges using clean, maintainable code, this role is for you.

Technical Skillsets Frontend

Strong proficiency in Shopify Liquid , TypeScript , HTML5 , CSS3 , and Bootstrap .
Experience building and customizing Shopify themes from scratch.
Deep understanding of responsive design , cross-browser compatibility , and performance optimization .
Knowledge of frontend best practices , including accessibility, modular CSS, and lazy loading.
Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks like React (for headless or Hydrogen-based setups).
Strong grasp of version control systems (Git, GitHub).
Ability to collaborate closely with UI / UX designers to ensure accurate implementation of visual designs.

Backend / Shopify Ecosystem

Strong understanding of Shopify’s data models (Products, Collections, Customers, Orders, etc.).

Experience developing custom Shopify apps using Node.js , TypeScript , or Ruby on Rails .

Expertise in working with Shopify APIs — Admin API, Storefront API, and GraphQL.

Knowledge of webhooks , API authentication (OAuth) , and Shopify Plus workflows.

Ability to design efficient custom integrations with third-party tools (ERP, CRM, analytics, or marketing systems).

Understanding of REST and GraphQL APIs , rate limits, and data caching techniques.

Infrastructure / DevOps

Experience managing deployments for Shopify themes and private apps.

Familiarity with CI / CD pipelines and version-controlled theme deployment workflows.

Understanding of web performance monitoring , CDN optimization , and error tracking .

Comfortable working with Shopify CLI and build tools (Webpack, Vite, or similar).

Quality & Testing

Experience designing and executing manual and automated testing for e-commerce functionality.

Strong focus on bug-free releases , QA collaboration , and cross-device testing .

Understanding of SEO best practices , structured data , and page performance metrics (Lighthouse, Core Web Vitals).

Non-Technical Skillsets Problem Solving

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for complex front-end or API-related issues.

Ability to design scalable and maintainable codebases in fast-paced environments.

Creative problem-solving with a practical mindset toward real-world e-commerce challenges.

Communication

Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to collaborate effectively with designers, project managers, and clients.

Strong documentation habits — explaining technical decisions, APIs, and workflows clearly.

Engineering Judgment

Understanding when to customize vs. use native Shopify features.

Ability to balance innovation with maintainability and performance.

Awareness of e-commerce UX best practices and business impacts of technical decisions.

Quality Mindset

Commitment to clean, maintainable, and reusable code.

Proactive in identifying edge cases, accessibility issues, and performance bottlenecks.

Enthusiasm for code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement.

Collaboration & Process

Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments.

Collaborative team player who values feedback and continuous learning.

Contributes to documentation, internal tools, and shared coding standards.
