Senior Test Engineer (Database Tester) - Immediate Opening

We are looking for an experienced Database Tester to join our QA team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SQL-based testing, backend validation, and data-intensive application testing. This role requires excellent skills in writing complex queries, validating large datasets, and ensuring data accuracy and integrity across systems. At least mid-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential for data validation and reporting.Key Responsibilities- Analyse requirements and design test cases focused on database and backend validation.- Write, execute, and optimise complex SQL queries to validate business logic, data integrity, and workflows.- Perform data validation and reconciliation between source and target systems.- Use Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, lookups, validations) for data analysis and reporting.- Perform backend testing to ensure proper integration of applications with underlying databases.- Identify, log, and track issues using test management tools such as JIRA or TestRail.- Collaborate with developers, DBAs, and business analysts to clarify requirements and resolve issues.- Prepare detailed test documentation including test cases, execution results, and defect reports.- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement of database testing processes.- Communicate effectively with stakeholders and independently handle client discussions.Required Skills & Qualifications- Minimum 5+ years of experience in QA with a strong focus on database testing.- Advanced proficiency in SQL, including writing and optimising queries, joins, stored procedures, and functions.- Strong experience in data validation and reconciliation across multiple systems.- At least mid-level knowledge of Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, lookups, data validation, reporting).- Familiarity with test management and bug tracking tools (JIRA, TestRail, or similar).- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.- Excellent communication skills with ability to handle client interactions independently.- Experience working in Agile environments.
