Role Description
The test lead develops test strategies, creates test plans, and takes responsibility for building and managing the test team, executing manual and automated tests, identifying and reporting bugs, and analyzing results to ensure product quality and reliability. Test lead communicates effectively with stakeholders, provide guidance to subject matter experts, and take responsibility for the overall testing process.
Key responsibilities
Develop comprehensive test strategies, define scope and objectives, and create detailed test plans, including resource allocation and schedules.
Build, manage, and mentor a team of testers, assigning tasks, setting priorities, and fostering a collaborative environment.
Oversee both manual and automated testing processes to validate software and hardware, creating and maintaining complex test scripts.
Identify and record defects (bugs), review completed tests, and analyze results to ensure the product meets quality standards and requirements.
Serve as a liaison between the testing team, developers, and stakeholders, effectively communicating test progress and issues.
Advise on testing best practices, contribute to the evolution of testing processes, and provide insights into new tools and technologies.
Skills & Qualifications
Experience with test automation, developing test scripts, and utilizing testing tools and frameworks.
Strong organizational, leadership, and motivational skills to guide and inspire a testing team.
Critical thinking, analytical skills, and the ability to identify and troubleshoot issues effectively.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interactions with technical and non-technical colleagues and management.
Must have extensive prior experience as project test lead.
