The Role

As a System Administrator at Kyndryl, you'll solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across the spectrum of platforms and services. You'll be at the forefront of new technology and modernization, working with some of our biggest clients - which means some of the biggest in the world.

There's never a typical day as a System Administrator at Kyndryl, because no two projects are alike. You'll be managing systems data for clients and providing day-to-day solutions and security compliance. You'll oversee a queue of assignments and work directly with technicians, prioritizing tickets to deliver the best solutions to our clients.

Required Skills & Experience :

  • 3-5 years of experience in Windows Server administration and AD support.
  • Strong hands-on

expertise

in Windows Server (2012 / 2016 / 2019 / 2022) environments.

Proficiency

in managing Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies, DFS, and NFS / NIS.

  • Experience with server performance tuning, patching, and troubleshooting OS-level issues.
  • Knowledge of backup and restore processes for AD and Windows servers.
  • Familiarity with incident / request / change management processes (ITIL framework).
  • Experience working with OEM / vendor support for hardware / software issues.
  • Good understanding of security practices related to Windows and AD.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Windows Server Administration

  • Administer Windows Server environments, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Create,

    network shares as per requirements.

  • Assign and
  • maintain

    user access rights in line with customer policies.

  • Manage disk space, quotas, and usage restrictions.
  • Configure and
  • maintain

    print servers and print queues.

    Maintain

    and administer core services such as DNS, DHCP, NFS, NIS, DFS roots, and Group Policies.

  • Perform OS restores
  • in the event of

    server crashes using backup tools provided by the customer or recommended solutions.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve server issues such as system hangs, disk crashes, coordinating with OEM vendors when
  • required

  • Apply OS and security patches using customer-provided centralized patch management systems, or manually where
  • required

  • Conduct periodic system performance tuning and optimization
  • in accordance with

    policies.

  • Ensure compliance with defined security policies for user-level access and system hardening.
  • Active Directory Administration

    Maintain

    and administer Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, and Group Policies.

  • Manage Active Directory objects (users, groups, OUs, service accounts, etc.).
  • Monitor

    and manage AD replication health.

  • Implement and manage Group Policy Objects (GPOs) for system / user configurations.
  • Perform backup and restore of Active Directory services.
  • Service Delivery & Operations

  • Handle Incident Management, Service Request Fulfilment, and Change Management activities as per ITIL processes.
  • Provide L2 support for escalated issues, ensuring
  • timely

    resolution.

  • Work closely with L3 and vendor teams when escalation is
  • required

    Maintain

    proper documentation of configurations, changes, and troubleshooting steps.

  • Ensure proactive monitoring and health checks of servers and AD environment.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Microsoft certification (MCSA / MCSE / Microsoft Certified : Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate).
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation.
  • Exposure to virtualization platforms (VMware / Hyper-V).
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools and patch management solutions.
