Head of Finance and Accounting

Job Overview :

The Head of Accounts & Finance will lead and oversee the entire accounts and finance function of the Pune unit, ensuring accurate financial reporting, statutory compliance, effective cash flow management, and strategic financial planning. The role requires a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with proven experience in managing end-to-end accounts and finance operations within the manufacturing industry, preferably metals / steel.

Key Responsibilities :

• Financial Management & Strategy
• Lead the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting process.
• Develop strategies to optimize cost, improve margins, and enhance profitability.
• Monitor financial performance against business goals and provide insights for decision-making.
• Accounts & Reporting
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
• Manage day-to-day accounting operations and oversee accounting team performance.
• Ensure compliance with Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS) and applicable financial reporting standards.
• Compliance & Audit
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including GST, Income Tax, TDS, ROC filings, and other applicable laws.
• Liaise with statutory, internal, and tax auditors and ensure timely completion of audits.
• Stay updated with regulatory changes impacting the manufacturing and metal sector.
• Treasury & Working Capital Management
• Manage cash flows, banking operations, and fund utilization efficiently.
• Oversee working capital management, credit control, and debtor management.
• Build strong relationships with banks, financial institutions, and investors for fund raising and project financing.
• Cost Control & MIS
• Implement effective cost accounting systems and monitor production-related costs.
• Develop and present periodic MIS reports to management for financial performance tracking.
• Support business units with financial analysis to aid in pricing, costing, and investment decisions.
• Team Leadership & Development
• Lead and mentor the accounts & finance team, ensuring skill development and high performance.
• Establish strong internal controls and processes across the department.
• Foster a culture of integrity, compliance, and continuous improvement.
